Hi all,

 

went to start my bike(gsxr400gk76a) for the first time this year and no joy, found that getting no spark at the plugs. tried new plugs and no joy. when turning the engine over no spark at all but about five seconds after releasing start button i'd get one spark??? think it could be coils or digital igniter but has anyone had this problem???

Hi, I think I can help you here since I ride a GK75A and it has almost the exact same engine. First thing I need to know, are all electricals not working? Such as lights and meters? If so, your starter relay 30A fuse has blown.

Dude, you can post your question in the Gsxr400 thread under the sportsbike section. Anyway i'm confused about what you meant when you said you turned the engine. Inverted engine? If fuses are ok, then listen to your cranking. if there is cranking but the engine just won't start, try using the choke, open the throttle when you crank. If there is no cranking at all, only a "tick tick" sound then either your starter carbon or your starter needs to be changed. If not, get a buddy riding the same model to switch cdi with you to try out.
