Low and High Beam

Hi guys, yesterday when riding back from school, my H4 bulb suddenly went off but when i switch to high beam, the light turn back on. Its only when i switch back to low beam, there is no light. I tried to changing using a spare bulb but its still the same.

 

Can anyone advice me what is wrong in this case?

Tried to meddle with the wires and bulb but the light still didnt switch on. Will only switch on when i turn to high beam. Could it be the low beam switch is faulty?

Look at your bulb. Got burnt signs? I kena before, the low beam filament is black, but high beam filament is normal. That's why can high beam, can't low beam. Then change bulb solve the problem.

thks for the reply but its not the filament. Ive tried new bulbs onto the socket, but to no avail. Should be the switch, cause when the low beam automatically switched off, i was riding on a bumpy surface.

It could be burnt wires, spoilt bulb(You have crossed out), blown fuse or burnt switch.

 

This is how you do it.

 

Open the the switch , connect the live wire to the normal beam light(most probabbly its bring crimped or soldered. A piece of wire can come in handy. Turn on bike. If it lights up, switch spoilt.

If it doesnt. check the headlight fuse. If its looking fit, Its the wires.

Check for loose terminals or signs of corroded burnt wires. If that doesnt fix, replace thewire with copper wires with thicker or same diameter
