well done! quickly book prac 2 ah. slots running out.

I passed my pract 1 on my second attempt! I fell.... fell like three times or more today. My bones like gonna break anytime now. Halfway through the lesson I really damn demoralized alr.

And I forgot who gave a tip of using your knees to nudge the crash bar to dismount bike from mainstand. I tried and it works. Thank you for the advice.

I was the weakest link out of the group of four others today.

Gd stuff. Glad u passed ;)

Soon you'll have the technique to dismount the main stand w/o using ur knee. Then 2 years later, when u come back to push the huge ass class 2 bike round the figure 8, you'll find itself using it again :thumb:

I saw a tiny cl2 female student with stick thin arms using the technique to dismount the 200kg CB750 during her practical. Credit for that little tip goes to her (whoever U are out there)!

To all 2b bros/sis here, dun feel bad or worried about falling. I skidded and fell at the ebrake station twice just last week. Most malu and lousy student in the circuit - class 2 student liao still can chui to the floor.

Falling is part and parcel of learning to ride. Do it enough now and u'll noe how best to avoid and survive it when u get ur license and venture out onto the road. Not saying that u should actively try to chui on the floor - just saying that falling in the circuit on a training bike is really not a very bad thing :)

Also, failing pracs means you'll get more practice, which sounds cliché, but is really the sad truth. I am super slow and untalented at biking - I took 2b lesson 2 four times just to pass the bloody plank and slalom. Back when RCs cost only $12/2h session at SSDC, I actually managed to spend $1000 plus on my 2B license.

I hated 2B lesson 2 so much that I almost gave up. I know now that giving up would have been the biggest mistake of my life. I love doing pracs even now, and intend to cram in as many RCs as I can manage before my TP in June. More practice NEVER hurts!

Are you the one who taught me to use my knees? Anyway, will they penalize us for using this during TP? :faint:

Didn't wanna affect/delay their progress. Imagine there's a girl who keeps falling in your group, I think you all will be like :dozed:

Has the syllabus changed or what? I was looking at the 2B booklet and for pract 2 it seems like lane changing, left turn, right turn, road familiarization etc. But when I google for pract 2, everyone is saying it's salom etc.

I need mental preparation!!

Anyone who went for pract 2 recently please share with us your experience. :p

Yep ;) I told u the cheat code on page 4 of this thread. No they won't penalize u. It's 100% allowed.

Instructors will give chance, but they won't pass u if u dun meet the bare minimum requirements. The fact that he allowed u to move on means u are gd enough to proceed - have faith in his professionalism and ur own performance!

Stopping and moving off without wobbling/jerking is very challenging for new learners. Just remember - more foot brake for gentle stopping, less front brake. You'll find yourself jerking forward a lot less. Don't be too quick to release ur clutch when u move off - the clutch allows u to control ur speed. Biting point is ur friend.

Foot brake however is a double edged sword. Too much foot brake will cause ur bike to fishtail and skid. My advice above is for low speed braking. For high speed braking (esp on road and ebrake station), NEVER jam ur foot brake.

Ahhh. Thanks for the knee thing again. If not the bike simply seems like a immovable object. :sian: Everytime I ganchiong I tend to anyhow brake and all that crap. And when coming to a stop at the pedestrian stopping, if I am at gear 3, I am supposed to down close throttle, brake, down gear to 1 and come to a complete stop right... Tsk.

For class 3, it's like we can simply stop at gear 2, and shift to gear 1 before moving off again but whereas for bike, it is a must to shift to gear 1 before stopping? AHHHHH. This is like one of the differences between car and bike. I thought bike would be easier cuz no need to learn parking... After just 2 practs, I realized bike consists of blood, sweat, maybe tears, bruises and determination, perseverance and never say die attitude!

I am still not good at stopping/braking/traveling around bends. Haha. But I will press on. (;

I am sure I will get it right one of these days, as long as I remain calm and don't panic. :/ Seeing everyone move on swee swee, certainly does give extra pressure.

Hello fellow bikers! Guess what! I FAILED my lesson 1 part2! Hahahaha well, im quite sure i can pass e next one. Know what to expect alrdy. My problem now is low speed.

But it was totally enjoyable! High speed at gear 5, wind blowing to my face. Such a good feeling. And the amateur fig 8 was totally cool. Like gear 2 and must corner when 'uturning'.... Awesomeee!

Got the hang of throttle control and braking =)

Imma prove them instructors i can do this! Ahahaha.

Will update my own thread later!

oh. shifting down? close throttle, brake, clutch in, shift down twice and reverse the process. (i.e. clutch out, release brake, open throttle). one more round it will become second nature i guess.

3 tips for u bro:

1) Look where u want to go, not where u are going. This is the number one tip for all bikers. When u-turning at the end of the figure 8, your face should be AT LEAST 90 degrees away from your front.

2) When you get your form right after applying tip no. 1, you may find urself moving too fast around the figure 8. To control ur speed, it is necessary to apply ur rear brake slightly.

3) Lastly, it may help to use ur abs muscles like a belly dancer to help u turn ur bike at sharp angles (at the turn of the figure 8). People use it to achieve good timings through the pylon slalom. There's no real way to teach you how to do this, except to encourage you to give it a try and see for yourself!

Yes, im trying to make it second nature for me to look where im going.

And the abs thing, isit like semi-flicking the bike?
