R15 v2 vs. 200NS

Hi guys. I am contemplating between this 2 bikes as my 1st bike - Yamaha YZF-R15 V2 and Bajaj Pulsar 200NS.

 

I know they are of different kind, one is a street and one is sport, but both look equally stunning to me. Speed/power/FC-wise both are about the same region, Bajaj being slightly better?

 

Price-wise R15 would cost around 9.5k - 10k, and Bajaj 8.5k - 9k (OTR + insurance). So R15 is likely to cost about 1k - 1.5k more than the 200NS (according to the quotation given to me by few shops). Am I right to say this or did I get 'chopped' by them?

 

 

Any other opinions on them? Which of them are easier to maintain (less trouble/cheaper cost)?

 

Need help deciding on which is better. Thanks!

 

P/S: I am a 20yrs old P-plate rider.

I think TS insurance will be the killer due to his age and experience. Thats why the difference in OTR pricing..
