Shaking Handle Bar

Hi everyone.

 

Have been riding my Shadow Slasher for a couple of months and I note 1 very peculiar thing with the handle bar.

 

My handle bar will shake/vibrate horizontally excessively when my speed is in the the region of 60-75km/h. Once I pass the 80km/hr mark, the shaking dies down. However the shaking only happens if i loosen my grip on the handle bars. But when I hold tight I can feel it as well, just that it is not so bad as I am pressing down on it.

 

It has nothing to do with the eveness of the roads as this is a consistent problem in any roads that I have travelled on.

 

Has anyone experience this before?

 

Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated.

try to check maybe the handle bar riser is loose

er... not familiar with Slashers, but are your risers rubber mounted?

A few possible problems..Steering cone, front and back wheel bearings. if spool rims then check if the spool are loose... might need to do tightening. Get a mechanic to check for u...

happened to me once, the handlebar wobbled at speed of 50-55km/h & the mechanic only tightened the steering cone & add the air in the tyre (previously it was only 170 from the standard of 225). It got much better and completely disappeared when I changed my front tyre & balancing it a month afterward.

This is abit off and stupid. Sometimes I feel a bad vibration/noise thingy when I ride. Dunno engine or handlebar or gearbox or what. But always turned out my IU cover never close properly. DUH man!
