Steering Damper

Guys, my damper was stolen today. Just wana find out the different ways to secure them properly. Thx in advance for all your input. Sometimes it makes me wonder if i should add anymore accessories on my bike, the lowlifes would just steal them anyway...

Are there security bolts for all models? or only for certain brands?

i think the security screw can be use on any diff brands as long the screw size and thread is the same..

i believe they got sell diff sizes..

check out the link, but sad to say, i dunno where can get those kind of screws. but confirm tamper proof.

 

BUT 1 MAJOR DRAWBACK, some low-life beings might resort to round off the bolts, making removal a major headache. but then again, good also la, can't remove = can't steal.

Sorry to hear what happened to you bro but I bought

the Motovation security bolts and they are different

from what archer showed us. Last time, fat di was

selling this kind of torque bolt. Not sure though if he is

still selling.

There are many kind of security bolts/screw.

 

The harder to find, will be more secure.

 

I have found some source, but the minimum quantity is 50pcs @ $1/piece.

 

 

So at the end, I went weld the screw instead.

 

Btw, normal Torx tools is easily available ....

why not a few of us share? i dont belive we need as much as 50 screws.. always use different screws.. eg: if your damper needs 4 bolts, 2 security, 1 alankey, 1 normal bolt.. in this way the bugger who want to steal your damper might give a second thought..

If everyone got the same security screw, it become a common screw.

Just like if every padlock having the same key....

 

The problem still the quantity, I need 4 M6x10, 2 M8x35, 1 M8x45, 2 M6x30....
