We are even more sad 2 wheels are the majority but treated like the minority...

Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk

Lolz, that is sad really, but at least aftermarket parts are cheap over there, all the parts that's on my cbr are either from the us or uk and what will be on the xciting are all from Italy. Sven with the shipping cost it's still much cheaper then buying here.

But on the up side, there's high tolerance for after market exhaust. Our moto is "loud pipe save lives" :D.

So any if you guys has aftermarket pipes that's not designed for the bike? Any comments? I can only drool when I saw spooks Facebook page :D.

b.t.w if local (web)shop don't have a Givi rack check @ Ebay.

"GIVI SR91M KYMCO"

Had a look at them already and don't like the look of the 2 tubular post sticking up like that :), I got the top box sorted, more liking to find a rack for the side hard cases.

I just bought today for a friend, DNA for (xciting 400i) filter with cleaning kit for 72€, 55€ for the filter , 17€ for the kit, 15€ cheaper than i have bought it in November.

ha ha including me everybody over here also didn't like the ecstatic look of these ugly 2 tubular post's.

That's the main reason that everybody buy other rack, besides Shad got also a rack

and it's without these tubular post's.

Cheers M8 ;)

@ froyo

I paid also about 17 euro's for 5 liter cleaner and 250ml filter oil (brand NovaScot)

I mend for the filter costs 55 € i have paid 70€ in November at the same store.

The cleaning kit is also from DNA at 17€ the 250ml

I didn't like the DNA price for the cleaner set, got so many other brand that giving more for the same price, so therefore I choose other brand.

5 liter men.... that's for a life time :)

Besides just came back from shop... bought myself a cruise controller (throttle assistance)

Congratulations sir Royeight, don't worry to much about the run in session,

this Kymco engine is a good one, just keep the rev's below 5000 rpm, and

for the first 500 till 1000km just try to avoid the highway.

After 500km and with hot engine you can try too temporary go full throttle

Wish you all the luck with your first scooter

Hello guys, just traded in my Super Four Vtec 3 for a brand new Xciting 400i, Still processing haven't out yet, Been considering hard between Silverwing 400 and this 400i, hope i made a good choice :cheer:

I have had the pleasure of experiencing riding on both bikes .

The Silverwing IMO comes out tops in terms of comfort , additional storage ( there is 2 in front ) and the overall feel and experience of riding a touring bike . However hard braking can swerve your bike at not so relatively high speed . My only concern with the bike is this . This bike is relatively heavier but the seat height & width is just low enuf for most riders to have both their feet touch the ground.

The bike can start with the side stand down and the seat cover need to use the key to open at the side . You just have to remember to take it with you later as i have forgotten a few times .

The Kymco 400i (ABS) is heavy on safety . You cannot start with stand down . you must engage the brake to start . LED blinkers in front , rings at the back . twin lights in front . Giant twin brake calipers with dual discs and ABS . You just cannot fall from this bike . I tried hard braking in pouring rain n dry roads and steep cornerings , this bike still is steady .

The thing i disklike though is the small windshield . My head sometimes spins after a 1/2 hour ride.

To get to the point , the 400i will please you if u r expecting something sporty and a performance like a sports bike. The silverwing will please you more if u r expecting performance like a tour bike.

I hope i did not offend anyone in this thread . it is just an opinion .

Thank you.

Your sentence is incomplete. " This bike is relatively heavier but the" ????

I also had own de silverwing before. Agree that nothing beats the silverwing in comfort but i think this 2 bikes are different category all together.

Silverwing is twin hence smoother but being a longer wheelbase it is not as nimble as this 400 is. The 400 is a fun bike to ride. It also has better fc than de sw and pick up is faster dan de sw too.

You were saying this bike is heavier? I don't know where you get that impression from but silverwing is 50kg heavier than this 400.

I had e chance to go up cameron with this bike recently and i have to say its so fun negotiating the corners up and down with this bike. Im sure de sw wudnt b as fun with tye longer wheelbase.

At the end of e day, depends on wat u want. If u r looking at comfort sw is yr best bet. If ur looking at a sportier fun ride, 400 wud b a better choice.

Thanks for the detailed write up bros!! At least now I know the plus and minus of both bikes, and yes...one of my main concern is the brake efficiency/reliability, I don't think mine is a ABS model. The reason why SW is in my list of consideration is mainly because of its parallel twin engine compared to the 400i single cylinder...secondly is about the large capacity under seat storage, but interms of outlook, i don't really like how the SW looks. And not forgetting the price tag...

But after reading you guy's review, i dare to say i will have no regrets on the 400i even though i haven't collected it yet.
