Hi bros,

i jsut enrolled for class 2a and is now trying to chiong for it. in the meanwhile i would like advice of this three wheeler Piaggio MP3 400 I.E. think it should be much safer as the chances of skidding is very much reduced?

http://************************/newbikes/view/253

my knowledge of bike prices n maintenance cost is very limited. hope to get more help... as the 1st bike i bought was disaterous .... was chopped by the bike shop till no carrot head left... wanted to use it for travel to work only daily from north to science park area (pasir panjan there).

i intent to buy a new Piaggio MP3 400 I.E. i would like to get advice and estimate of cost of upkeep such as

1. insurance ( clean record class 2b n 3 license. class 2b got in 2007 n class 3 in 2011)

2. maintenace cost ( not really about assessory items but on maintenance of the engine n tyres ect. how many mths to go for maintenance n change of tyres just a rough estimate will do)

3. road tax cost?

4. any other cost you may suggest which i cant think of.

is there any problems associated wif this model? like cant get spare parts ect? thank you very much.

Hey TGB, first of all 3wheels scoot are not necessarily safer unless you are talking about trikes or Can am spyder. it seems you have your mind set on MP3 400. you should also got to the MP3 forum. perhaps get to know riders from there.

sorry abt your being chopped by the 1st bike shop. many shops have to survive. first thing they see as newbie, head is gone.

trust me. scoot is great to ride. twist and go. but if you wish to go work everyday from north to pasir panjang, then if you wish to keep the scoot for long, you have to think of many things like regular oil changes, belt and roller regulat change.

you must have a meet up with MP3 riders and get their opinion.

good luck

I'm not sure that three-wheeler is safer than two-wheeler with ABS. Three-wheelers do skid sometimes, and ABS lowers significantly the chance of skidding due to wheel lock. Unfortunately, currently you cannot have both.

Personally, I would prefer two wheels with ABS. Both scooters and bikes with ABS are available for 2A
