For those who are changing chains, just share with you my past experiences. If you ride a RX-Z OR a pulsar, no point changing to those HUGE DID X/O ring chains. Change DID Heavy Duty roller chain enough. Plus sprockets (ORIGINAL Yamaha) only about 55 +- including installation. If in JB cheaper at Ah Gua Lane, but forgot the price.

The DID chains plus corresponding wider sprockets make the bike's response/pick-up abit sluggish IMHO and not worth the price. Use manufacturer specified chains, it works the best, rather than chains meant for bigger bikes and hatchet job fit it on your bike. One of the pluses of 2B bikes is that maintenance costs are cheap. So take advantage of it. You can even DIY. Its dead easy, you don't need a pair of vise grips to compress a O ring master link to fit it on and worry about busting the seals. You also don't need to grind off the master link if you are removing such a chain.

Why mechanics recommend such chains is simply cos they cost more, thus more profit. So don't get taken in.

Maintenance is easy, use chain spray regularly, if abit budget, balance engine oil will do, but dirty la. Heh.

But again, up to you all la. Its just my opinion.

Hmmm.. Ok lah, i guess it depends on how hard working you are.. Heavy duty chains have the tendency to get dried up faster than those with sealed rings.. hence, if you lube it often, a heavy duty would be a more wiser choice bcoz its more cheaper..

Personally, my heavy duty chain snapped when touring once, so i have the tendency to not support heavy duty.. haha.. but then again its just me..

However, if ure those like me, who lube once every 2 weeks.. keke I guess, sealed chains could help prolong its life abit.. :shy:

hey MC28.. i didnt quite get ur name.. btw ask u arh.. since u the pro.. since u changing the motherboard or smth like that.. will my comp be reformatted? like will i lose all the data and programmes previously installed etc?

sry i'm quite the comp noob.. ahhaha..

Nahx, no formatting is required as there's no changes in the hardware specs...

oh and one more qn.. i know last year when i bought the comp i downgraded it from vista to xp.. now if i wanna upgrade back to xp how much is it roughly gonna cost me? and will i lose all the data?

thanks man..

Ermmm, you downgraded it from Vista to XP and now u wana upgrade back to XP???

If it's from XP to Vista, you have the recovery disc which contains the Vista O/S recovery..All you need is to back up ur stuff, boot from Recovery Disc 1 then continue to Disc 2 before it prompts you for Fujitsu Software Drivers CD..

If ya talking about going down from Vista to XP, try calling the main service centre(Henderson) and see if they still provide the XP downgrading disc.

how to install windows on my macbook? can run both rite?

Use bootcamp..Tons of online help around..

btw to clarify, am talking about 2B bikes like kups, pulsars, YBR-type. Doesn't apply to Vara 125 and Phantom.

If changing the same motherboard dun need to reformat one since chipset and everything on the motherboard would be the same.

If reformat is required, you could always take out ur hd first and backup the data inside before reformatting. Programmes wise you can't really backup as some files will go to the o/s part of it. But if you want can just copy the whole programmes out as well.

You mean upgrade it back to vista right? Don't waste money on vista. It is one of the not so successful o/s. Better wait for Windows 7 and see how.

hmmm... it seems like a better change than my usual xp.. lol.. oh well... thanks for the info anyway..
