Well I need to renew my Deauville road tax so I have bike inspected and must buy insurance. I call my regular NTUC agent to give me a quote. It was the same as last year. $281 for 3rd party & fire & thief. What! No discount from last year I said. He said insurance actually went up since last year. What he gave me was 20% NCD plus additional 10% for being a regular. But I read in forum AXA is the cheapest. So I called Anda in Thomson for a quote to compare. I told him my bike is a Deauville but keeps saying De-vail-le. He told me can't match $281. The price for same 3rd+F+T is $336. So AXA is not cheapest. Some more NTUC agent will arrange someone to come my home, pick up my cheque & papers, renew road tax and send it to me again. All done beautiful. What else can I say?

actually its good to have an insurance agent do it for u...

if u go down to Income Point urself.. it will also be the same price quoted by agent.

 

so dun hassle urself and give the agent to earn something. :)

 

fyi, let say u buy bike from shop.

and next yr, u go renew the insurance urself at Mitsui, NTUC, AXA, whereva la..

the bikeshop is still earning abit from ur insurance..

 

so for me, whenever i buy bike from shop. i tell my NTUC agent and deal with him direct. just need to sign a form from him. i rather have him earn my money becoz he provides me with hassle-free insurance renewal yearly. :)

it depends on your bike model i guess

 

becoz insruance for super 4 from AXA is definitely cheaper den NTUC for my age, riding experience (no NCD, no nothing)

No more regrets.

just called today... think they quoted me $410-$420..... forget the exact amount..... he asked mi how come ntuc cost... i told him $398... he cant match..

went renew insurance..previously under Mitsui 2nd party..

despite after ncd..motortiam tell mi Mitsui had increased price abit $548..

they get quote from AXA aso..2nd party $504..

well..i dunno wat de difference btw both company..

tanx to my motortiam for takin initiatives..

i choose AXA of coz..

can i ask..

 

my insurance is going to renew soon.. but my bike is still under installment with the bike shop..

 

then in this case.. can i renew the insurance myself? or the bike shop must do for me?

 

i call ntuc and they told me no document needed... can proceed thru telephone...

 

but if i renew myself will the motorshop not happy?

 

cos i once ask the boss.. and he told me must go back to them(motorshop) to renew insurance... but i found that the price the quote me is actually quite high then i ask the quotation myself...

 

qutation i got from NTUC and AXA (24 this year, riding phantom, 6 yrs riding exp)

 

Ntuc: $292 (without NCD) -> third party

AXA : $252 (without NCD) -> third party

 

when i brought my bike.. the motorshop quote my $389 for a third party under mitsui.. i think he wanna carrot me... but newbie that time... sian..

 

so what your advice? thanks

Note. If you make claim. You will have to pay back 20% NCDgiven at the start of insurance.

 

You don't have to pay back the discount. You will lose your NCD when you renew the following year.

As far as I know, most insurance company doesn't seems to accept that from TP anymore...

I get additional 5% discount for being with them faithfully for 5 years. How come you get 10%? Can verify?

 

And they arrange people to come & collect from you? How do you get this done? Who is your agent? Can PM me? Thanks! :cheeky:

as for the loyal discount > my friend also did get 10%

Sorry guys. Too many riders asked me to pm them my agent contact. I will ask him if he can handle it first.

 

I finally got quote by letter. The loyalty discount is 5% and not 10% when quoted over the phone. May he send dispatch to my home because my family have other personal insurance with him. Just my guess. Not too sure if that is true.
