Hi guys, I'm a newbie so please take it easy... I already searched the site but couldn't find one. Anyway, I'm currently negotiating for a used NSR SP in Vietnam but I have a very little knowledge about this bike. So please, be patient if I ask a lots of questions.

1) Can I fit 140/90-17 tire for the rear and 100/90-17 tire for the front?

2) What parts usually get broken?

3) Is this bike ridable on rain?

Thanks & cheers,

Hermano

Thanks Yun2309, I read somewhere that sp can be fitted 130 tire at the rear without affecting the handling. Anyway, I already put a deposit for the bike and I'm getting it tomorrow.

Wow I can say for this bike when I test drive it and drove it above 7K rpm it is truly eye sucking bike.

why would you want such a huge rear tire?

it affects the speed, as well as increased FC due to the increased surface contact with the road + the extra weight.

110/90 is enough for daily riding IMO.

It is a major hassle to bring a used bike into Singapore. Have you looked at all the rules? The amount of paperwork required will bury you up to your neck.

Bike must be less than 3 years old.

Must have it inspected (closest location is Hong Kong)

Must pay 17 percent GST and customs tax

Must buy COE

Must pay 15 percent registration fee

Thanks for all of your reply guys! I read from this site http://www.dreamgate.ne.jp/NSR/specsother/nsr150sp.html that 130 can be fitted and just come up with a question if 140 can be fitted. Anyway, what do you think with 130? I'm doing this for safety (and looks) because I heard that the wider your tire is the more stable your ride will be.

Strong Eagle: I'm based in Vietnam. but I' have plans in the future to import bikes in Singapore to Vietnam.

Cheers and Thanks again...

Oh yah!!! I think there's not a lot of SP user around here that's why this bike is a looker  but the problem is the getting parts for this bike and finding a good mechanic who can maintain two strokes bike :(

as what I said above getting parts for this motorbike is very difficult including tires! So basically, I went to 120 but, not very happy with the rear tire the shop install Dunlop D450F (and its a front tire) I think its a cruiser/touring tire. I know it sucks! anyway, I'm only planning to keep the bike for 6months then, I might look for S4 Vtec.

I have another question guys!!! my SP RC Valve doesn't work I'm not sure if its the CDI or servo but I check the continuity of the CDI and it looks ok??? and I connect the servo into a 12 volts battery and it runs fine.

But, when I check my wirings it seems the wires is not properly re-wired (red wire connect to yellow wire and so on...) and it has a lots of jumper so I guess my RC Valve doesn't because of my wiring.

So, is there anybody here has the service manual for this bike so I'll just fix the wiring by myself.

Thanks a lot guys and more power SP owners!!!
