Complain against Motordiams

is there a thread where we all can complain about motordiams? if in the thread everybody agrees that a motordiam is F@#$ing Cheater or alot of BS or etc... others will surely join to blacklist the motordiam... howabouthat???

The problem is that you can never prove that a shop is a "cheater", even if they are. Let's say they really screw up a repair or a sale and you come on the board and call them cheaters. You are screwed. You have defamed them. While you may be able to prove substandard work, they could always claim that your bike was one that missed "quality control". How do you defend against that.

 

If you do want to post about a shop it must be facts only, no judgments. You can post that you went in to a shop and they gave you a used clutch cable (if you are able to prove that). If you had a written estimate and the final bill was higher (with no change in work or your agreement to a higher bill) then you could post about that.

 

You have to be much more careful with things like, "they damaged my bike". How do you prove that up. It is the shop's word against yours that they did the damage.

 

And you cannot say things like, "they cheated me" because that is no a provable statement. It is defamation in Singapore. You could say that all day long in the US and they would have to prove they are not cheaters but that is not how it is here.

 

So, if you have an issue with a shop, you better have some back up. For example, estimates of work to be done, in writing, on a work order. Written proof that you have asked the shop to make things right. Verbal isn't worth much.

 

And to be honest, this better serves the members here. There are a lot of people who have made accusations that are very thin at best, simply because they didn't work right with the shop. Then, there are the "carrots" who think they got screwed... and maybe they did... but they have no idea for sure because they are carrots. The value of such a complaint is low.
