a old bird to help check my bike... there's always oil leakage from the gear side... wondering where's leaking.. and is it still safe to ride?

i guess might be ur water pump spoil le.. what is leaking? the engine oil or the coolant?

i think should be EO leaking.. coz i touch the oil also not like coolant... the EO lever is it have a clear round surface by the right side to check de is it ?

sorry i'm a total noob to s4...

A few possibilities:

 

1. Water pump life span up. Time to change.

2. Oil seal or o-ring near to your gear lever worn out or stiffen. Time to change.

3. Top block casket seal broken or worn out causing seapage. This is 1 time big problem, time for overhaul.

Charges varies from shop to shop. Watever I've listed r juz possibilties and they may not be the actual probs. The best is to go down to the shop u've gotten ur bike from for a complete checkup. Alternatively, you can check out S4 Component Cost for a rough gauge on the repair costs.

yes the clear window is used to check the engine oil level. if ur bike has been leaking for days, suggest u might wan to top up a bit of engine oil should u still wan to ride. in case the engine oil level has drop enough not to lub ur engine parts properly

Anyway, join the meetup tonite and some of us should be able to help you find out what's causing the oil leak, if not the actual cause but at least shrink down the possibilties.
