Race Fairings

Hi All

 

Been trying to hunt for legality issues on race fairings on this site for damn long... Thought would start this in order to consolidate info for those considering to install race fairings.

 

What i have read so far on this forum/LTA website are the following

1) Even if you cut to stock specifications, Headlights cut for stock lights = illegal

2) Each offence will be fined about $100 for each "illegal" modification. e.g. Headlight, Signal light, brake light, rear mudguard, etc. And this depends on luck, and if the TP is nice

3) Kana accident also GG. U cannot claim the opposing party in the wrong on damage because its not legal.

 

Want to ask if anyone got caught on the road or even while parked before? And if so, how much are the fines like?

 

Of course the rule do anything dont get caught applies, but since i wanna track, i need some info to identify the risks(with uncle sam) and make my calculated decisions.

 

Can any kind soul help clarify?

Most aftermarket are not legal anyway except for some, like air filter. Anyway as long your race fairing can fit the original headlight and tail light, they won't bother you one.
