Hi all,

Problem as below.

ok..ytd i got myself a pair of led signals from motoworld but they blink fast when i install them onto my bike.from wat i noe, raising the watt will slow it down cos my front signals are runnin on 12v18w or 23w while my leds are running on 12v1w..

Any kind souls here care to tell me the resistor rating?

u can add a resistor or change the condensor..

u hav 17w extra..

u can try get 8 ohms resistor for which side..

but the easier option is get another condensor..

:)

2001~04---> NSR-150SP(FT43**H), RXK(FD41**)

2004~06--> CBR-400RRR(FN31**R), RXK

2006~07 ---> CBR929RRY(FS35**C), RXK

2007~10 --> CBR929RRY, Wave125R(FY74**P)

2010~Present -> CBR1000RR10(FBE56**T), Wave125R

8ohms resistor? i noe changing the relay helps but would prefer addin a resistor instead..

yup, calcs come up to 8.5 ohms, 8 ohms is about right. It needs to dissipate around 1.5W (sorry, it is 1.5A), so u got to get the right rating, tiny ones will burn out quickly. It needs to be in parallel to the signals.

Thanks for the help bro..One thing to check, when u mean tiny resistor will melt, what is the correct size resister?

Those long rectangular kind of resistor?

And they come in 8ohms + hw much watts kind, so which kind should i get?

By formula Volts = Amps * Resistance or

Amps = Volts / Resistance you can plug in a few numbers.

Amps = 12 volts / 8 ohms = 1.5 amps

Next, Watts = Volts * Amps = 12 * 1.5 = 18 watts

So, you should get at least a 20 watt resistor... a big square block.

As you can see you save no energy when using a resistor in parallel with LED's. It would be much better to find an electronic flasher control which is not dependent upon the current it carries.

Hey bros, thanks for the help..Got 2 ceramic 8.2ohm resistor.Fix them up and workin fine but it gets hot fast..Wonder if it will last..

To echo SE, by adding resistors you're negating the benefits of low power consumption by using LEDs. Right now it is consumiong the same amt of power when using normal bulbs.

I wouldn't even bother with the LED lights. You save no energy because you dump all the energy into the resistor as heat.

LED's do not have as wide a viewing angle. I have yet to see and LED replacement bulb that is as visible as a standard bulb.

There are 160degree beam angle LEDs actually, and are ridiculously bright. Requires heatsinks to work properly, so are not suitable for vehicles. (bulbs do not need to dissipate heat)

Do a search for Luxeon LEDs.

Hi bro MC28, how is yours LED signal light ? I have a DIY signal blinker, might resolve the problem. You want to try ?

May i know where this 'signal blinker' is suppose to fix/replace on which part?

If yous is Super 4, that blinker is in the left side cover.
