Hi guys,

I am riding a Cbr150 old version.

My bike front fork is leaking so I went to my usual bike shop for servicing. Thinking I only needed to change my fork seals.

However when the mechanic inspected the tubes of the fork, I see some scratches there and he said must change the fork sink too. He quoted me $115 for one fork sink (need 2). And $45 for one fork seal.

Total cost is $320. Am I being cheated? What exactly is this fork sink anyway. I tried to Google but can't find anything.

Thats what usually happens when a fork leak is left unattended. U might have missed it for quite some time alr.

Exact price not too sure but fork tubes are quite expensive. U can choose to not change the tubes but if the scratches are indeed deep, ur seals will fail again very quickly.

Understand. So it is the fork tubes. And ya there are indeed scratches there after the cap is removed.

Heart pain but guess I still have to change as leaky fork can leak down to front brake and affect breaking. Safety issue.

Thanks guys.
