2D1N Trip to Melaka 14 and 15 July 2007

Hi everyone,

 

This is me and my gf first trip up to Melaka, looking to travel with any experienced riders up. We have a GPS loaded with Malsingmaps to assist in our trip. As we plan to have ample time to walk, explore and shop in the afternoon, we will move out at 8am sharp on 14 July, Saturday.

 

We should be staying at Hotel Puri Melaka @ http://hotelpuri.com/room_rates.html as there has been good reviews about the hotel taking care of the bikes (pulling down shutters) of their customers.

 

There is no fixed plan or itinerary as we have not been to Melaka for over 10 years and this would be an exploration trip. We would appreciate any assistance by experienced Melaka riders here.

 

We are planning to begin the return trip to Singapore on 15 July, Sunday at 3pm with a target to reach Singapore in the evening.

 

Anyone interested in convoying along with us, do write a note here. Cheers!

I had stayed in Hotel Puri Melaka before and have never known that they have covered carpark for their guests, do let me know if they really have one.

I read about the shutter part and the exclusive car parking part in this thread. Much appreciated about the makan places, is there any other "must go" places to explore around that you might recommend?

1 "must go" place for me is Gloria Jean's Coffee for the Mocharetto which is not available in Singapore. Since you are staying in Hotel Puri, you may want to check out the night market at Jonker Street nearby. Ask the reception for the Melaka Street Map at RM3, the publication is full of information about Melaka. Explore whatever place of interest that catch your fancy.
