Resistors for LED indicators

I would like to change my signal indicators to LEDs, but the flashing is too fast. Can anyone help with instructions for installing resistors?

If you are intending to change to LED signals, it would be advisable to purchase LED signal flasher and replace your stock flasher. Should be able to get from LAB.

 

Alternatively, yes, you can wire in resistors in series with your signal lights. You will likely need a (6 or 8)ohm (25/50W) resistor, depending on what your incandescent bulb wattage was.

 

End up, you'll be using the same amount of power as the load resistors draw the same power as your incandescent bulbs do. You will have to mount the resistors where heat can be dissipated (that's where the energy goes to waste).

The connectors should be simple enough, but, if anything just match up the LBE connections and you're good to go.

 

Pull off your old flasher relay. If it's labelled, just go ahead and match up the L-B-E , Load Battery Earth(ground/frame)

But I still haven't gotten round to it. Too many things on hand. Probably have to shelf it for a while.
