Hi Guys,

I'm planning to get a Honda Shadow. I have been riding Steed for the past 2 years.

Able to give some advice on Shadow please? Like what are the common problems for Shadow and what to anticipate when I get that bike.

Appreciate your inputs!

Ive ridden both bikes

Steed Pros

Better Fuel consumption

Faster

More bobber looking

Analog meter

Steed Cons

Fuel tank inside will get rusty and might leak.

Shorter in length. Anything you add makes the bike more cramped.

Bikes should use more front brakes. Due to the skinny front tire,You will find the rear brake for the steed is more effective.

Aftermarket suspension not available for the rear.

The angle of the triple trees makes any modification to the front makes your bike look cramped.

Shadow pros

Looks very tour like.

Heavier.. might be a pro or con to you.

If you find your suspension not good enough, there are Rear and front progressive suspension options.

Single pin engine makes you feel the V-Twin rumble(03 models and older)

Closed front forks makes your seal lasts longer.

Shadow cons.

Most shadows I know max out at 125km/hr.

If you wana change your handlebar, you might have problems with the kink of the clutch cable.

Although it's 400cc, the amount of mass it needs to haul around brings down the top speed. But 125km/h is with saddlebags I suppose.

I intended to buy a Shadow 200 but gave up that idea when I test rode one. Sluggish bugger.
