******** BIKE SOLD *******

I have listed the bike a few months back, a buyer gave the deposit but then changed his mind.

I then decided to keep it. At least that was my plan before trying to convert my international driving license to a Singapore one.

I have been riding bikes for 22 years, I have been riding large adventure bikes for over 15 years however that was not enough so I was given a Class 2B license which means the GS is now sitting in the garage looking for a new owner as my appeal did not go well. I probably have 2% chances to get a full Class 2 so, I am not really hopeful.

This is a beautifully maintained Black 2001 BMW R1150GS with 30 liter Adventure Tank.

Road tax paid until April 2015 and COE expiring in 2021.

The bike has about 9K km on the Odo since the engine was over-hauled; the clutch, throttle bodies and tires have less than 450km on it.

Accessories:

Ohlins front and back (serviceable)

Y-pipe with LeoVince can (LTA approved)

Driving spot lights

All dash backlights have been swapped for brighter LEDs

I have replaced the panniers mounting brackets with the ones from an R1150R

as those come with passenger's handles (if you ride with a pillion he/she will thank you for that!)

BMW system side panniers with locks matched to the ignition key.

Rocker heads powder coated in black (they look much nicer)

H&B crash-bars.

Adventure pegs

Brake pad enlarger

Clear indicators

After market horn

New clutch

New throttle bodies

New air filter

New brake pads

New Alternator and starter motor.

New battery & Injectors, rear view mirrors are new as well as the handle bar LH switch

Touratech mesh headlight guard

Rear splash guard (Touratech)

Front fender extender

Mechanical cruise control lock

Grip-puppies

Second 12V power socket near the beak.

HID bulbs

Additional touring windshield (Zetnik)

Hand guards with Touratech extensions

ABS (perfectly working) but no servo brakes which I really never ever liked.

To top is off I fitted AF-Xied and booster plug which really cured the surge problem that single spark boxer engines often suffered of.

This is also an official PML bike however I have done most of the work at

Perfection Motors (I would recommend this work shop to anyone!)

Let’s come to pricing..

I have spent close to 20K between buying the bike, fixing it and fitting accessories (have a look at the service receipts..) I am willing to let it go to the best offer but before making ‘your best offer’ please bear in mind a few things:

Please take the time to check the bike first, if you are a serious buyer you will want to see it before making an offer.

If your budget is, let’s say, 8K perhaps you should look at something else. In other words, I am open to reasonable offers, not any offer.

There are a few R1150GS on sale, they go for about 15K, this has been extensively serviced and the GSA tank will give you way more autonomy on long trips so that is something you may want to consider.

If you really are keen and your budget is tight I can keep a few accessories.

Please note H&B top box & GPS are not included in the sale

Luca9277, it really sucks that you aren't able to ride your bike in singapore. This is one of the things among other stuff that bugs me about the system. A fresh class 3 graduate can go for class 4 licence and 4 to 5 immediately after passing but for motorcycles, you need to wait for approximately 3yrs to get from 2B to 2 if you include the one year gap for each class plus training.

Tell me about it.. I converted 4 licences before with no issue, this is the first time I encountered problems.. But hey.. These are the rules and we all have to play by them..

Had I knew it a year ago I would have saved myself lots of headaches and got a scooter right away.

The new owner is getting a great deal!

I'm sure if you can somehow prove that you ate able to ride large capacity bikes (I.e. thru insurance papers, ownership titles) LTA shld be allowing you to have a class 2? Just curious what are the reasons LTA/TP has rejected your appeals?

Free bump for your sale too

I provide half a ton of paper, (ownership certificates for 5 bikes, insurance, driving records, pictures...) eventually what they wanted me to prove is that i had motorcycle training to get my licence in first place.

Apparently they got more strict this year.

The funny thing is that i did take a training when i converted a Danish license to a California issued one in 2006.

When i moved to Sydney in 08 i have got my US license converted with no issues.

Now i am trying to convert an Australian license to a SG one.

The Traffic Police is rejecting my training certificate in the US as i am converting an Australian one.

They asked me to show them my actual US licence.. Guess what, it was taken from me when i got the Australian one..

The are not accepting any other document.

This has been a never ending saga for the past 2 months..

I finally gave up.

In life, there are important decisions that you have to make.

I chose to ride ... And I chose to Ride Hard and Ride Safe ... On a BLACKBIRD.

Past Rides : Ali Baba (P.Ramlee period), Chopper (Disco season), BMX (ET season), Piyo-Piyo (2008-??)
