Currently riding a VTR250, so can't find the stock or after market air filter for it. Even the net also cannot find. Only found source is with Boon Siew, but that's about $80 for a stock one.

Btw, my air filter is the flat tray type. It has already been modded into the sponge type. Can even see the previous paper glue traces at the sides.

Therefore, I am thinking of cutting a K&N air filter, cut to the same size and glue it to my current stock air filter.

Is it possible and how do I go about doing it? I got questions like...

1) Which K&N air filter is suitably large enough for most bike's air filter?

2) What type of glue to use?

Image taken from an 88 VTR250 Interceptor, but I think mine is similar also.

thinking of modding my air filter to K&N filter too.. but got so many different models of K&N airfilter.. dunno which one can fit.. mine is rectangular one also..

But when you cut the K&N air filter, will it be damaged? after cutting need to seal it up with glue izzit?

U can seal it up with a glue gun. I saw shop at Kaki bukit SANFU doin it for RVF and owners can vouch it works. Cos RVF no KNN filters. Need to cut the mesh of original filter then swap with KNN.

From the way I see it, can I just find a similar size (same as the original paper size), cut away the plastic edge hence leaving the K&N filter intact to its glued walls, and then glue the entire piece onto the metal mesh below?
