1) Is it possible to transfer ownership of the bike from the rider to a sub-rider in an insurance?

2) If the bike is laid up before transfer of ownership, do i still need to have insurance?

q1, no.

The owner can terminate his insurance and possible retrieve back 80% of the unused amount of his insurance. the sub rider still has to purchase his own insurance.

q2. No. if its a laid up to laid up transfer of ownership. But if you intend to put that bike on the road, you will need to tow the vehicle for inspection, terminate that laid up, pay for road tax and so on and get a insurance.

Why i know.....because I am also buying a laid up bike now.
