Like to share with DV bros who have interest in filming.

Today, Just got myself Go Pro HD Hero2 ( Outdoor Edition) plus the following Assessories:

Lcd BacPac

Tripod Adaptor (Camera Mount)

Suction Cup Mount

The following will be available 2 weeks time:

Battery BacPac

Anti Fog Inserts

On my bike, i had fabricated a metal platform (device) for twin purpose of Cam and GPS. I have a short tripod removable/mountable on the device. I had fixed 2 sockets(12V) inside my glove box with Usb auto plugs in readiness.

So I did not buy the Handlebar Seatpost Mount.

Now I am planning to charge the battery on the go by creating something.

I look forward to the extremely useful WiFi BacPac + Remote coming soon - hoooooray !!!!!

Btw I fully recommend the Retailer at Excelcior Shopping Centre. His service is par excellent - he goes all the way to help me alot to figure out and assemble the various parts that come with the Camera and Assessories. Price wise it's reasonable - not very much more than buying online ( I have to factor in insurance, freight and Gst).

In future I can post some vids and pics with this Hero2.

Honda Deauville NT700V had been deem to be obsolete and is taken over by Honda DN-01, which has the same engine.

It is heavier and presumably is not that popular here. I had checked with various reputable bikes shop, regarding the 2010 Deauville.

No shops want to bring it in as there is no big market here. They prefer to bring in those below 200cc as it is easier to

sell and simultaneously cheaper and more affordable by the younger riders.

As for maintenance, spare parts, overall, it should not be a problem except it is a little bit pricier. Battery, brake pads, tires,

clutch, throttle cables, magnetic coil, rectifier, etc. are easily available. But the problematic pannier covers ( especially when you slam hard

on it, or overload it ) have to be ordered, if seriously damaged. Well, there are some bros here who managed to glue it back. Can learn a few

lessons from them regarding this sophisticated thingy.

Periodic maintenance had to be stringent in order to keep the Deauville in good working and running condition, especially changes to the air filter,

good engine oil, shaft oil and the use of iridium spark plugs will be an advantage as it is not easy to change it due to the restrictive area.

Hope these helps and welcome some Deauville bros to add on.

Good to hear that. BTW have you got your ERP IU rewiring done up?

Just got my bike back from First Motor, where Mr. Lim as usual did an excellent job on my fairing. This time the locking system for the side box finally broke :-(

Think I have had damage to more than half of the fairing so far, but they always manage to patch it back together...

Also admired their restoration work on some Honda Steeds: The single seater bobber version nearly wanted me to give up my Deauville.... and then common sense kicked back in: Shaft drive, fairing, plenty of storage space: booooring but practical like hell. The Deauville is a keeper for now

Yep, and also my LED strip for the turn signal. VERY bright, so no chance of forgetting to switch that off in the future.

Since they were quite busy at First Motor, I pushed the bike a bit further down the lane and after a bit of haggling I convinced one of the car hifi shops to do the wiring. Nothing against motorbike shops, but the hifi guys are one class above when it comes to electrical wiring: Right tools, cable shoes, switches etc..

Bro Fraggershell,

It's a great bike!

When Honda Rider says "obsolete", he means to say that the shop no longer brings in - hippo's, honda rider's redlavita's and mine - I think, are among the last of the DV NT700 bikes that were brought in and sold. It is NOT THAT DV Bikes are no longer manufactured - they are popular in Europe. In 2010, DV was intro into US. Generally, reviews are on the favorable side.

DN-01 is quite a revolutionary bike . IMO, as for the DN-01, it will not be easy getting used to, for many riders to change gear with the left thumb ( as to them, manual means to change with the left foot !!!!). Automatic CVT may mean either super convenience or scootering??? Some loves the look, some hates the look.

Welcome to DV Club, bro !!!!

P/S

Bro Hippo, do join us for the meetings as we miss a good kaki.

Bro Redlavita, how many million RM did you win?

Anyone knows where to buy PVC fabric and how much it cost? I want to DIY my seat cover. Got holes from cat scratches. Forgot to cover bike yesterday afternoon and it rained heavily and now the seat foam is wet. Thanks.

HI Rayyim , you may like to try Spotlight at Plaza Singapura can't remember is 3nd or 4nd floor liao, but I know is very X, I think is better let the bike shop do it, as it is cheaper.

Hi, Hippo.

Thanks for the info.

Because the foam under the seat cover is wet. I was planning to remove the seat cover and let it dry before installing the new one. I don't think the bike shop will not do that for us.

Anyway, I will have some time on my hands next week, so can do some DIY on my bike.

Do you also know where to get fiber glass for DIY repair. The left panel, where the fuel switch is located, is also cracked and the last time I respray, the paint shop repaired it but not well done. It's crack again. Alternatively is to order a replacement part which cost around $100.

Thanks.

It's basically just a 30cm side-looking green LED strip on top of the instruments and connected to the left & right turn-signal by diodes.

Sorry about the crappy picture quality, it's not quite as flashy as the last picture (it's bright enough to be noticed in broad daylight and probably too bright for the night, but since the purpose is to get my attention it works well)

I thought you installed the LED lights for signalling,

instead it is for your own viewing pleasure...

I think have to copy you liao, cos at times i forgotten to cancel the signal after the turn.. LOL

Well...I sent my bike for the annual inspection. I had a little LED pilot light in the headlight. Was informed that no LED lights are to be fixed

if it is not original from the manufacturer, unless it comes with it. I was told to replace it back with the filament type.

Do not know whether the 30cm green LED strip is allowed ?

I like what I see... Lucky I asked for pics. The strip does serve a useful function. Not to switch off a turn signal is dangerous, lah !

My thoughts are in line with Redlavita.

However, Honda Rider's input makes sense. The strip can be seen clearly. Now I am in a dilemma.... Maybe affix a decorative cover up when the bike is for inspection?

I have installed blue LED on the sides front and rear but they are hidden from view and can be switched off, with an override switch.
