You mean the headlight cut-off switch? So that you can start your machine without the headlight on.

I had mine done in a motorcycle shop. They fixed a headlight cut off switch onto my left handle bar. The switch looks similar

as the engine cut off switch. it will be useful if the bike's battery weaken and unable to crank, and with the headlight off there is a possibility

that I am able to start and ride off to change to another new battery. Furthermore, I use to start my bike with the headlight off. The cost is around $25 for the switch if I am not wrong.

Actually i'm tinkin of disable è hazard light to convert it to on/off headlite usin back è same switch.

Or izzit better to fix up a seperate switch?

In my opinion, the hazard light plays an important role when u stop along the road side to pick up or alighting your friends.

I use to on it while riding in heavy rain so as to give ample warnings to some blind drivers and riders.

You will realise the importance of the hazard light when riding in NSW during the night.

It will be better to fix a separate cut off switch for the headlight.

I got it fixed at Syed Alwi Road ( Belwin Motor ) about few years back

You may try other shops, probably most will carry it and it may be slightly cheaper :thumb:

Like the idea of handlebar though...

In Short:

My 650V is SOLD.

Great running condition.

But fairing and panniers cui.

(I dropped the bike during an e-brake move last year. Never got around to repairing these parts as this bike is my main commute. Hence the big discount in pricing. I figured the money you saved will go towards the restoration process.)

Bad Features:

- Cui fairing.

- Front right signal light is dislodged slightly from the bike drop.

- Cracked Panniers with bad scratches. One with a hole and the other can't locked without some strategically placed pressure.

- Right plastic panel broke into 2 pieces. (Missing from the bike as shown in my photos in the link at the bottom.)

Good Features:

- Huge Monokey Top case (52litres? No problem fitting 2 Full Face helmets. Solid base plate and tight fittings)

- Running parts are serviced by Gopa @ AMK Autopoint.

- Fresh EO & Filter change.

- Fresh Shaft Oil change.

- Fresh brake pads.

- Fresh front Diablo tyre.

- New non-slip seat cover. (If you wear jeans, your butt will stick to the seat like glue.)

- Rear tyre i.e. Dunlop Arrowmax probably requires changing by next EO change interval(another 4000km).

Weird features:

- The old fuel tank was leaking badly when I took over the bike. I found a 2nd hand silver colour fuel tank to replace it. Never did got around to spraying it black. Hence the 2-tone look to the bike.

- Previous owner installed a black opaque wind shield in place of the original transparent one.

Current 2nd COE is good till 31 Mar 2020.

Long Story:

I loved this bike to bits, literally. Would have rode it until its ready for the scrapyard.

It is a great commute bike for me. I have always felt a little bit guilty about not repairing its broken fairing and panniers. When I first got my hands on it, it was a black beauty. It has never looked the same after I dropped it. Given my hectic work schedule, I couldn't spare the time to let it go to the shop for major cosmetic surgery.

At the same time, my lame left foot is getting from bad to worst and I'm beginning to face real difficulties shifting thru the gears. I'm downgrading to a bike with auto transmission as a result.

I would like to find another owner who is willing to spend the time and money to bring it back to its former glory.

Hope my low asking price will attract a fellow enthusiast to consider taking over this bike for restoration.

My loss is your gain.

The Aftermath of the sale:

This has got to be one of the fastest bike transfer I've ever done. Bike was sold with 36hrs of my post.

Guess I really priced it too low on this one. Thank you all for your queries. I was expecting maybe just 1 or 2 enquiries...

But the most persistent buyer got the Deauville in the end.

This thread may welcome another Deauville Bro in time to come. He's currently busy prepping my ex-Deauville for some Major Comestic works. (Apparently, I've neglected to tune up the carb for some time. Wouldn't have noticed if not for this bro.)

Wonderful Win-win situation in the end: Another Deauville gets a 2nd lease of life. (More like Nth lease of life.... u know what I mean.)

I've went thru 4 Hondas by now.

Got over the excitement of the Phantom pretty fast. Did not take me long to start yearning for something more powerful. (I can only envy other phantom riders who managed to reach 120kmh. Mine only does 110kmh on a straight downslope.)

Never did get into my Super4 after 2 years. I realised I was never the racer type at heart. It made far too much noise andfor the moderate bang on the road. A short trip to Malacca proved its shortcomings. It just did not have the legs for long journeys. I've always felt compelled to keep it rev'ing high just to keep it happy at my expense.

The ST1100 was... stately and elegant.. A gentleman's ride. A beast unleashed when provoked. I am neither of these.

I finally found my place with this Deauville. I am an easy rider who loathe chrome.

And now... time to look for another commute. This time, I want auto transmission.

(Oh yar... and no points for guessing what brand my 5th bike is going to be... hur hur...)

Oh yar... time to change my sig too.

Respectfully,

Goo
