check main cable, (under seat part, hide under frame), maybe electronic leak. also check side stand switch and clutch switch.

Thank you Dr DV, not sure whether you still remember the grey DV that you had serviced sometime back. I am the new owner now.

Just to share my experience about upgrading the rear shocks of the deauville 650

Found that the rear shock is really soft although having adjusted the preload to the maximum. There were no leaks. The shock was giving me a bouncy ride especially with a pillion and bottom up when goin over an hump at low speed. I am only 65Kg +-.

I have decided to upgrade the rear shock, I read through the net for more information.

Decided to pay bike lab a visit and ask for his expert opinions. Initially I wanted to save some money, thus I asked for a revalve on the shock. He mentions performance will only be slightly better than before.

After much discussion I decided to go for an aftermarket customised rear Penske rear shock. With pre load, stiffness , high and low speed rebound adjustable.

I should say its definitely worth it after a long wait of 4-5 weeks for the shipment for the shock.

Upon installing I took a ride. The new shock improves the ride tremendously over the stock. Its brought a big smile to my face.

When Cornering the bike doesnt 'sway' like the old shock.

Even with a pillion, the rear shock doesn’t ‘sag’ or bottom up even when going over humps.

The downside: Now the rear shock feels better the front. Haha. I will have to save up and upgrade stiffer springs for the fronts. The bike is diving under hard braking.

Bro diesel y not u try changin thicker fork oil to see if it helps... wonder hw u paid for ur rear absorber? Coz è last time hkl recomended Ohlins at $1.6K where as motoworld hyperpro at $950 inclusive of fork springs.

Hi Guys, need to seek your advice on a bike issue i am having now.

Realise my DV 650 is very prone to overheating. After travelling for about 20km, the engine will switch off automatically when I am waiting at the traffic lights. Thats why I went to my mechanic to find out whats wrong. He told me that the coolant will leak when the bike is stationary and that I need to replace the 4 gaskets by doing a top overhaul of the bike.

He mentioned that the workmanship cost alone is already minimally $600 + and that does not factor in the hardware costs like the new gaskets etc etc. May I ask the bros here whether the cost is justified? I am afraid that I will be grossly overcharged.

Thanks alot!

Hey bro, since u already know the problem with the bike, maybe u should go to 1 or 2 more bike shops and ask them how much they charge for the same work, alternatively u can purchase the gaskets from eversuccess etc and bring to other workshops.

I see. Thanks for the lead again pizzaboy! I have a noob question to ask. How often must one top up the coolant and the radiator reservoir? Can it be that the fluids inside these 2 compartments are running low and that lead to my bike overheating often? Last but not least, can use water to top up both reservoirs?

Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you get well soon. Hope your bike can be repaired. New fairing can be bought from Ebay from a Poland company that does pattern parts. Hope you can claim against the taxi for the cost of the repair.
