Just to share. My mechanic literallty hacked out he pin( the thing that supposed to move) in the calipers, cleaned, sandpapered, greased, put back. What rebuild? I know it is time for me to clean miy calipers..I haven't helped STWB, but i figured you must have taken the thing out and seen the broken bits?

EXCALIBUR : comments?

Seriously....

Like tat either bring in the spares & do myself lol... ok i got a few trusted mechs & they noe I very anal when it come to braking..lol

the front wheel is rather 'tight' when try to spin. the piston in the caliper won't go back... all the rubber seal & o rings should b long gone le sadly...

Hi mate, the pre 2002 deauville are ared with brembo front brake master cylinder.

Any idea abt the stroke?? checked online but info was rather sparse.. was told it was a 15mm bore stroke.

Any ideas??

So far i found it quite ok (even with a not so good condition pump kit in it) lol

Hi Stwb, my ride is V1 with Brembo. I assume we use the same brakes. Don't know the piston size but attached is parts/kits for the brake from Wemoto UK. You proli seen it anyway .

http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/honda/nt_650_vw_vx_vy_v1_deauville/98-01/

Went to EverSuccess and FJT recently to look for some parts which they didn't carry but they were kind enough to show me the parts catalogue. They may help with compatible parts.

Also scrap stockist Ah Ann ( went there recently and the place choked with old parts) may have some item you want to play with. 74 Sungei Kadut St 1 . 96256549 . Call for directions or PM me

I would go to the cranky Towkay Chong at Planet to have him take a look. He is forthright when not sulky, which is most of the time . Just kidding. Yeah Towkay Chong.

Deauvillians, I rattle off the top of my head, so please comment and advise. Cheers. And commend if it pleases you, of course :clapping:

Yup. Usually when I go planet service I'll ask him got any scrap 650 coming in. Lol

Hi Stwb, part 11 wd be your search item? Part number included for your happy hunting. Cheers

Many thanks for all the info oxygenbank & desmokat....

Yup ah chong agree cranky guy lol but he a very experienced mechanic!!! so far he always 'rescue' me from any problems i encounter... his standard sentence nw.. .Scrap the bike lah...hahahaha.

My money is always on him if not Kim Keat Motor or Republic Motor :) but I always open for options keke...

Caliper wise i noe is 2 piston front 1 rear..

Only the front master cylinder bore stroke elude me..lol nonetheless, still find the stock rather grippy even wif 'faulty' pump kit. maybe change steel braided hoses & service all calipers to maximise the as my calipers kinda jam (had a hard time rolling my wheels when bike on main stand; front rotors abit warp)

Sadly all these dun fall under warranty as i gotten the bike from a bike shop. nonetheless will try my luck lol. also my rear top cylinder is slightly leaking. so i presume just change the top gasket will suffice??

The scrapyard sound good hmmm....

BTW anyone service their rear shock before or rather change aftermarket?? our rear shock is similar to AT & I think it servicable... any comments??

'I rattle off the top of my head' oxygenbank what u mean???

"calipers kinda jam (had a hard time rolling my wheels when bike on main stand; front rotors abit warp)"

Kinda think you will be getting that seized rear calipers(pistons) checked soon with steel braids much later.

Top cylinder leak is usually through gasket and not on my hot watch list.

Just my 2¢ worth (off the top of my head)

How about a short group ride to somewhere near..say Kathmandu. Thats in Johor right?

Yup... now will be to settle all the calipers issues & front brake pump kit. if the front brake pump kit too ex, might as well change to brembo 16mm those stock types on R6 or R1...lol

Carb joint however darn cheap though haha..

Having a hard time sourcing Air filter...

most aftermarket brands BMC, K&N Sprint, Pipercross etc etc all dun have!!!

Most if not all of Sg no stock...

Import in from Fleabay not worth haiz!!!!

Looking to stwb getting the bugs out of his bike!

I enjoy reading your posts, Demoskat.

I'm still game for a ride.

On a sidenote, I' ll be riding to Klang for some adventure activity.

Because of a stretch of unpaved road I need to cover there(I guess 5 to 8km long), I decided to ride a 150cc bike instead.

So its up the NS Highway on bike lane. Are there a lot of nails on the bike lane?

Just cannot imagine a DV on unpaved roads.

Haa. Me no time for road trip anymore. Baby girl born liao. Got to spend time helping out. Think stwb1981 is on for a ride. So got to wait for him to find tune it.

Haha...

Well as long it solid surface i dont foreseen any problem with crossing terrain...

Nails so far in my 12 yrs of riding most of the nail i kana in SG wahhahaa. my kaki did kana before on NSH. Once a CBR another will be a Tenere. The tube change is challenging lol. Bike lane should be ok as many Msia kup oso travel using that...

as long it tubeless & dun kana by the side walls of tyres I believe with tyres worms no issues lah even suay suay kana side use more worms to patch to tahan to SG if not will be Msia tow truck. RM250 in Msia tow within that state to nearest bike shop or not tow to SG that will depend on distance & charges. Lastly will be finding my good old trusty tower Ah Jay to tow back SG but that will be much more as he operate in SG. haha

Yup debugging the bike...

So far these are the stuff I brought from FJT. if U all nid the price ref let me noe...

FJT

Air Filter (Ordering)

Carb Joint

Master Cylinder Pump Kit (Brembo)

Main Frame Plug Cover (I broke 2; don't know why)

Radiator Hose Set (Ordering)

Front Caliper Rebuilt Kit x 2 (pending; maybe finding alternative)

Rear Caliper Rebuilt Kit x 1 (pending; maybe finding alternative)

Rear Swing Arm Bearing also need change was quote ard $120 with installation (not with FJT) which I find it quite reasonable as the swing arm required special tapered bearings as quoted by FJT & the process seem rather troublesome. lol

there are more stuff adding more... wa kao trying to cut expenses but spending more... bad habit...arrrrgggghhhhh!!!

one way alarm, t10s SMD or CREE etc etc, led fog lights etc....

If U guys want any stuff do let me noe... I used to bring in such stuff to sell in CMO thread & Advertiser board...keke

BEST SPECIAL PRICE FOR ALL DEAUVILLIANS!!!

Paisay!!! I very 'loh So' aka naggy...

Hi Desmokat... Congrats....

My baby boy oso otw in Sept... so now can enjoy a bit but got to see my work schedule & my young daughter behaviour...lol but if there any ride upcoming do let me know... i likely 16-17 August going in for a spin...lol

BTW anyone knew about the Meter bulbs?? I know they are T10s & should have 3 right for the clock, speedo & tacho. Or did i miss out any like the Netural gear, high beam, hiss sign etc etc... Are those changeable bulb or anyone had any experience?? Since I ordering those bulbs I want to get the numbers right...lol

Seeking advice from the seasoned Deauvillians :)
