dear all,

3rd day old gsr rider. over all i love this bike. but i find it too heavy and tall. almost fall a few time. any suggestion? i ask my mechanic, he say to bring it down donno need to saw something then change some other parts which is irreversible.

Weight cant help it la.. I have problems with the weight as well. For the height, u can buy lowering link online and ask ur Mech to fix it. I had him cut and weld the side stand so bike wont topple over after fixing the lowering link to make it low.

158cm . . . wow! You must be on tiptoe (like those petite riders on those motocrossers) most of the time when the bike is stationary?

Of course, it also depends on your inseam length.

Hye bro... No wurries. U will get use 2 it.. Im 158cm.. N im njoying my ride too..

Advice is not to cut and/or weld anything.

You can try those lowering links.

Or alternatively, try reshaping the rider portion of the seat (e.g. cutting off some of the internal foam) to make the seat "lower".

Wow! Impressive!

Everything except the seat, forks, handlebar, engine (I do see some of the covers are CF-ed) and petrol tank is clad in carbon fibre!!! Even the rear swingarm has been CF-ed!!!

Noticed that you've changed to racing footpegs and eliminated the pillion's footpegs and it's holders as well.

Do I spot a rear Ohlins shock and gold Brembo front brake calipers?

Also, what bike are the rims from? GSX-R600? GSX-R1000?

Last but not least, the rear do looked lowered but not overly so.

Yeah, understand it is just the rear that has been lowered.

Nevertheless, impressive cladding of the CF stuff.

If this has been my bike, I'll be damn stressed over it not to scratch it and/or wipe it clean after rain (worried about water marks) and parking under the hot sun (worried about the CF fading off) . . .

its actually the rear only the front is stock sold it off as i not that short i ordered the not so low got another very low

Thanks for the information.

I've never been comfortable with tiptoeing while riding a bike.

Just felt no confidence knowing someday, sometime, I might need to e-brake and the foot might not touch the ground . . .

Thus, I admire the guts of riders who went about tiptoeing. * Thumbs up *

Rainy days these few days, this is what i observed:

My fuel cap has traces of oil on it! It is very obvious because oil when mixed with water (rain water) gives colourful reflections.

Which leads me to wonder if my petrol has been evaporating from the tank from the fuel hole and wasting my petrol!

What are your views?

Omg bro, don't tell me it's the same problem I had ~2 months ago. Already to begin with, my fuel cap was corroded/rusted when I bought the bike. Then after heavy rain, when I go to top up my fuel, when I open up my fuel cap, will see fluid (i guess it is the same water-petrol combi) that you are talking about. I didn't mind it at first, but over time, my bike started to be jerky, will die suddenly, engine rev went crazy too. Turn out: Bike has water ingestion, and rain water wasent being drained away. Had big headache and had to urgently service bike, and spend $$$. Now my bike OK thank god.

Please PM me if you need help/advise bro, cause it seems you having the same problem as me previously. Willing to help a fellow GSR rider, :)
