3. Running-In

To get the details of running in, ask the shop for recommendations.

 

Just remember to use mineral oil for the running in.

 

1st Oil Change and Oil Filter is around 100km

2nd Oil Change and Oil Filter is around 500km

3rd Oil Change and Oil Filter is around 800km

4th Oil Change and Oil Filter is around 1500km

 

After the fourth oil change, you can use fully syn for your bike.

This is just a guideline for you. Enjoy your ride...

Juz go to ur trusted mech. 1st few rounds are Mineral Oil. This is to get rid of the very small fragments of metals. Dun worry about the mileage, there should not be any damage to the engine (unless u rev high and do high speed). Juz get ready $50. Should be way less than that. With the unstable economy, dunno how much things costs already hahaha.

 

Try to change the Oil Filter as well. The metal fragments gets trap there.

Bro ... need not worry if you're riding within the constraint ...

 

I had mine changed at 800km plus(can't remember) ... I ended up going for hard break in at racewerk becos I cannot tahan travelling too slowly becos of the running in constraint ....

 

For the first few engine change.. it is recommended to change your oil filter becos of the tiny little metal fragments ... these tiny little metal fragments may cause possible harm to your engine (read it last time when I did my running in...)

 

So dun worry about your engine oil ... it's still ok to ride your bike... like IvikaRazI suggested... for running in... dun use synthetic oil... use the cheapest mineral oil will do... so that will at least save you some bucks... wait till you reached 24k... by then, you can choose to use semi or full synthetic....

thnx for the re-assurance guys. it's my first "newborn" baby as compared to all my other "adopted" babies so far. so a bit kiasu kiasi. must pamper her well. only the best for her.

 

so, cool. i will prolly head down to some nearby mech at my place and get it done tomoro. *phew* and i tink 4000RPM/65km/h reli very challenging last few days. seriously CMI. i will go up to 5000RPM from today oredi. maybe can hit 70km/h this time. haha. lol.

thnx!!!...went back to small obscure low profile bike shop in yishun. lol. cos they take my old yamaha nuovo highest lo.

 

running in. *loon*tahan* now oredi 150km. very soon will reach 500km, then can go up to 5-6KRPM/90km/h oredi. haha. just nice for my rileks riding style. then can finally overtake JB cup kias on the way to work oredi. lol.
