There are only 2 ways.. i think...

1, use a high temperature spray (usually black, most moto shop got sell) and spray it on your rusty area.

2, change the exhaust to chrome one ($$$$)

yup use hi temp... got to spray quite often...think is better to remove the belly pan else it wil contribute to the bottom rust too.. my prev vtec1 onli rust at the bend which is below the radiator fins... other parts swee swee coz nv put belly pan.. althought we i take over many places rust .. but the header is quite good.. no offence to those who put belly pan

How much is the high temp spray you guys talk abt? Its a spray once in a while thing right? And i was wondering if 3k for a spec 1 is worth it..

Besides the rust, i would say the bike is not too bad. Everything is like done up already. Its FR plate coe ending July '09. What do you think?

Overhaul? aahaha :cheeky: try changing the engine oil or clutch plates ba..

for the rust, u can actually take down ur header, sand the rust off, spray a layer of the hi-temp spray 1st, put back ur header, warm up the header & spray another layer..will b better ba :thumb:

That bad? Need to overhaul? When I throttle, i feel the bike is pretty responsive. Just tt it sounded a bit rough. What does it mean when its rough?

as read what others might have given you the advices..

Check all the wear and tear parts like tyres/Sprocket and chain....corrosion on tank bottom and edges.... disc plate check got dented or out of shape, rims got any chip off , check wiring izzt in a good securing tape on it..

For engine wise...there are thing call engine oil treatment which cost around $6 per can to use from STP.. CARB washing & tunning are best to be tune when ur PLUGS/ENGINE OIL/AIR FILTER are all in tip top condition..and also battery too... Do your grounding and your own Volt Stab which only cost less den $20/-

Header ..just lighlty sand.... derust as u can say... use high heat temp paint on it....stays on a while....not forever..

3k for spec 1 ..ask motorshop..but dont say u got offer...from there u quote and decide..

try applying engine oil onto the headers after u washed ur bike...

then start ur engine and let it dry up... it helps to prevent rust.

Most of wsr saw my headers last time... 1.3yr old bike still looks rather new.
