Sky99, try to change gears BEFORE turning and not to change gears WHILE turning! There is too many things to do if you change gears while turning, it would cause you to wobble too. 1st gear should only be used for 3 seconds or less, try to change as soon as you move off...not right away, but change earlier.

This is rougly how I will handle the right turn lane change

When I move off into the middle of the first lane, change to 2nd gear.

When front wheel touch the dotted line, the bike should already be on 2nd gear and starting to turn.

When the front wheels touch the white line between 2nd and 3rd lane, start to position the bike to face the 4th lane.

When bike is fully in third lane, it must be facing the lane you're going into, speed up now.

Do the necessary checking before changing into the 4th lane gradually. You know you have positioned it correctly if you don't need to move your handle bar at all for the lane change.

That's how I do it...but for learning, best to do EXACTLY what the instructor tells you to if you wanna pass. For the not very good at multi-task, having more practice would get you used to handling the bike.

For my U-turn...I always can't seem to position my bike nicely like how the instructor taught. Some times I would overshot into the outer lane while moving off. But if I try the way the instructor taught, my right leg have a higher percentage to fall to the ground more. I guess I should stick to my way and risk the 4 points rather than getting a immediate failure. :cheeky:

During test...Right leg can never touch the ground under any circumstances (e.g. stretching) other than E-break?

Not too sure, but like instructor said on my first lesson, right leg is to be superglued to the footrest! :)

TP test is like all other "school" test/exams... just go through the motions. Pass liao, up to you what you want to do.

My bike is stock! Please don't jio me!

Yup it's new raincoats but soon it'll be dirty cause there's too many lazy & inconsiderate assholes who cant be bothered to take off their shoes first before putting on the pants .

Sian from now till 8 april (rtt) got no pracs for me to go , only Rc and Sp . For a moment I wish I was still at 1.3 going round and round the circuit -_-

Haha...I'm always the slowest to put on raincoat because I take off shoes to wear the pants. There is also the problem of finding matching size raincoats! I can see S top being hung with XL bottom...wonder what kind of people wear this combination. Got once during pract OTR and it rains, got one guy unlucky got a raincoat with 2 pants inside! :faint:

The TP dates change so fast...hope won't fail....if not need wait 1 1/2 months to retake!

For now when you have nothing to do, can go for SP. Cheap pricing plus no instructors to nag at you! :p

Hahah same here I'm also always the last one to put it one , have to look for S size and take off my shoes . LOL so the guy had to wear 2 pants ? He must be feeling damm uncomfortable .

Yeah I think I'll go for SP every now and then , feel so weird not going for pracs and I wanna see my handsome instructor (:

Luckily we stopped outside the driving center and change...the guy no choice but to run into the driving center to get a top. :faint:

SP is fun...just watch yourself and try not to develop any bad habits! Will tend to not check blindspot all those when you're riding by yourself because there is nobody there to remind you. :p

Anyways...for TP...do I pick the bike myself...or do I use the bike which the group before me had chosen?

well you have to go out to the mini circuit when they call for you group. then the testees who just finished their test would put the bike up and pass it to you. so the bike given to you is what you must use. unless if you want low cut bike then have to wait for the bike from another testee who used a low cut bike.

then just check the bike to see whether everytime is working. if it is not working inform the instructor there. if ok already can go to the starting point and wait for the tp to signal you to go.

Oh okay I thought that there was 2 pants and a jacket . Hmmm I always check my blindspots but everytime never look out for traffic .

Hmmm my 5.2 instructor told me that you won't get to choose the bike , they ask you take no. 1 means must take no.1 .

Hmm...I think I feel a bit more secure if the bike is passed on from the batch infront, at least they use it and find no troubles with it. :cheeky:

If really cannot change then too bad...nothing can be done about it. A few things I'm worried during TP is faulty bike, bad traffic pattern and bad weather. Took 3 times TP for class 3...now a bit paranoid for TP already. :(

its natural to feel nervous and panicky when nearing tp and on tp day itself.

so u have to learn to control and suppress the anxiousness in order to rise to the occasion.

do a visualisation of the test route in ur mind before the test. it helps.

u can do it bro.:thumb:

For those who are starting on 4.01, i advise you to start thinking about taking your RTT.

I passed 5.02 on 19 March and started to take my theory lessons immediately.

just passed my BTE today and my RTT date is 14 April which is very close to the 1 month expiry of my 5.02 test. i think i have to take 1 RC to re-validate my 5.02.

hope i do not have to re-take my 5.02. anybody can confirm that ?

pls plan so that you do not end up in the same situation as the above.

ride safe.

5.02 is only valid for 1 month, after which you will need to retake it.

and i think you mean RTE? bike lesson no need to take basic theory so why take BTE?
