  1. ride for fun, no box ride to work, better have box, for raincoat stuff.
  2. Wife against me riding, so I only ride occasionally. I don't really need to ride it to commute though. I found taking bus/mrt better - although may take longer time, it's aircon, not worry when raining, plus I enjoy a movie or game on my handphone.
  3. I use Papago. Although it turns on for my every trip, I hope I'll never have to use it. luckily I haven't had to.
  4. it's basically a smart phone with the TV as the screen. content is the most critical issue. in china this thing is booming because of the loose control in copyright content. but most of the tv box from china won't work as nicely because they'll detect the ip and block those content. other more legit product like those from amazon works, but content is not all free. alternatively, you may consider it as a cheap replacement for gaming console, with the vastly available (and mostly free) android games.
  5. it's motorized but u cant register this thing with LTA/TP or whatever authority there is. so forget about it. also looks pretty dumb.
  6. if your target is 2A or 2, then choose the minimum required 2B for the first year. the bike itself will guarantee to depreciate. the COE component may earn you something if it keeps rising but that's irrelevant to the bike.
  7. supply and demand. if one think the price is too high, look elsewhere. if no other place selling cheap, means market is like that. more so on bikes (and cars too) where the COE expiration is ticking, so from seller angle, less rationale to keep asking unreasonable high price while bike gather dust and losing COE time.
  8. think you mean "LOW" fuel consumption, "HIGH" mpg right?
  9. hi all, need some advice. i am looking at a used bike. the owner state some issue as in title. is it a serious problem? or a minor one just need to replace with a new gasket. how much it usually costs? thanks.
  10. hi all, I just passed 2b test and am now looking for a 2b street bike. Quite interested in daelim roadwin 150. Got a few questions though: 1. how is the reliability compare to honda/yamaha/bajaj in similar category? 2. is service expensive or not? read from above can only go to agent. How ofter in terms of time/mileage does this bike need to be serviced? 3. with the heavier weight compared to other 2b bikes, how is the acceleration and top speed like? I don't plan to ride very fast but sure want to be able to keep up in expressway middle lane which sometimes is around 90. many thx
  11. can you provide more info on this bike? date of COE registration? mileage? No. of owner? accident history if any? parts change history? Any accessaries like box? thanks. can contact me 94232301. Is it possible to ride it to my office in NUS for viewing during office hour? your PM storage is full so I can only reply here instead of pm.
  12. thanks. learned sth here. so can you recommend some reliable 2b street bike models? say 3k budget for a hopefully not too old one.
  13. thanks for the advice. So I guess no matter what 2b bike I ride now, it'll be too different from the CB400 used in 2a lessons and tests to gain much practical experience. I'm not too sure about the type of bikes actually, thinking about reliable and easy to handle and also comfortable to ride on, probably a street bike? Can you suggest some beginner bike that's reliable and popular, so the price and resell effort will not be too demanding? Another question is, I saw from forum that seems bikes need more frequent service than cars? like 3-6months for bike vs 1 year for a car. what's the recommended time/mileage in between each service?
  14. just obtained my 2b license today. wondering if getting one of those 200cc street bike will gain me more experience for 2a test 1 year later. or maybe I shall take something more difficult to handle like a sportsbike so I can feel easy when later riding those 400cc honda in driving centre. I think riding a scooter probably won't be the best choice to prepare for 2a, right? another question: what kind/age of 2nd hand bike can I get nowadays with ~$3000 budget. thanks a lot.
  15. the instructor at bukit batok driving center said in class that anything below limit+20 is ok. police normally won't catch you for that. but if they do, and even you are just 1km/h above limit on their radar/meter, then u got nothing to argue with also.
