Where did you get yours from? I am a newbie myself I smoked a wonderful big boy's Montecristo no.2 piramide today. Really enjoyed it, very heavy and full bodied smoke but i think it was a little too much for a newb like me. I actually felt kind of sick after that, nausea and strong heartbeats. Came back and googled, it was actually one of those 'cigar sickness' from the powerpack nicotine. You should check this out: http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=7811 http://en.allexperts.com/q/Cigars-2143/Sickness.htm Do google some newbie tips for smoking cigar to make your first experience a more pleasant one. We could meet up for a smoke someday soon, PM me your number. Anyone else who are interested can leave me a msg too.

You can try a Cuaba. They cost about $18~25, depending on the size you get. Cigar smoking can be quite an art and hobby, just like wine, coffee and whisky. You might take some time to learn how to enjoy and differentiate, but after you become better at it, you will get hooked onto one of the most expensive consumption hobby. Personally, with the NSF pay i'm getting, i can only afford to smoke about 1 cigar every week. But sometimes i feel that the desire and limitation also contributes to the enjoyment. Now, a good cigar with a glass of sweet and light white wine is what i'm looking forward every week.

Sorry, i revise my first question. I do know some local tobacconist. What i wanted to know is if you guys got any personal favourite shops with the widest range or cheapest prices. So far i regular Oaks (orchard) for their good service. These are the places i know where you can get cigars: 1. Takashimaya level 2, Davidoff The are one of the cheaper stores i reckon, with regular promos and discounts. Sometimes taka's storewide discounts also apply to Davidoff sales. However, the staff have almost zero knowledge. Don't think they know much about what they are selling. 2. Orchard Parade Hotel, Ground level (beside starbucks), Oak Cellers This is the store that i frequent these days. Good range of products, reasonable prices and very knowledgable staff. Not much promos through, especially if you buy singles. 3. Suntec City, Level 1, Habanos Good range, big shop and reasonable price. I didn't really like the service there though. Perhaps she thought a young boy like me have not much purchasing power so she was a little snappy. Her very different attitude towards another caucasian who entered after me sort of validated my assumption. Since then, never went that place again. 4. UE Square, Ground level, Connoisseur Divan (http://www.connoisseurdivan.com) This is a cigar bar. Only been there once, the prices are a little higher, about 10% more? However, they have a very big range of products, i read that they are actually the distributor in Singapore. The staff are quite lao jiao and provides very good service. It's a really nice place to smoke your cigar with good music and drinks. Do reserve a place if you wanna visit this place on a friday night or weekends, it gets really full. 4. Chinatown, 2nd level of a shophouse, Oldecuban (http://www.oldecuban.com) Unlike Connoisseur Divan, this cigar bar features more indoors smoking. Really beautiful place with a sexy waitress serving alcohol and coffees Price wise, like Con Divan, slightly higher. The staff are also very experienced and friendly, no age discrimination, although they were quite surprised initially (like many others) to see a new young guy checking out their place. Reserve your place on friday nights and weekends, they are very popular. 5. Mandarin Gallery, Level 3, Oaks Cellars Classic Oaks Cellars, good range of wines and cigars. Haven't step in the store so i can't judge on the service and knowledge of their staff. But based on other oaks experience, i believe they will do just as well. 6. Regent Hotel, Ground level, Lacasa Cubana (http://www.lacasacubana.com/) Haven't been there but i have read a lot of people singing praises of this store, seems good. 7. Furama Riverfront Hotel, Cigar Affair (http://www.cigaraffairasia.com/) Haven't been there. They boast to offer the best prices... CAUTION: I have read that they had been caught selling fake limited edition cigars before. Read more about this here: http://www.samie.me/2009/11/cigars-affair-at-furama-riverfront.html 8. Tanglin Mall, Oaks Cellers ??? Read somewhere that there is shop there, no idea if it still exists.

Sorry if digging up an old thread is considered a rude gesture but i can't seem to find any other cigar smoking communities around in the net. Just got into cigar smoking for a few months and am loving it. Just a few questions for discussion again with the local regular cigar smokers. Well, they might be asked before, but 2 years have passed now, so it is fair to talk again. 1. Where to buy cigars? Which is the one place that has the largest range; which is the one place that has the most competitive prices? 2. Where to smoke cigars? To me, cigar smoking is really a luxury (unlike habitual smoking), so i'm very particular in the whole experience; the location and the food or drinks that i have in company with the cigar. Personally i like a quiet place, some wine/live band bars by the river (boat quay, etc), some quite coffee houses by in the quiet spots of town. I also tried the Cigar Divan in UE square but it is ALWAYS fully reserved on fridays and weekends. So, any location or secret havens to share? 3. What do you guys usually like with your cigars? I know some take whisky with cigars but i personally don't like a strong drink with my cigar. I pefer a sweet or fruity white wine (or ice wine laggi best), sometimes fruit juice and iced mocha.

Personally, i don't mind spending up to 600 for a pair of good quality and killer looking bags. Because if it has the killer looks, then it doesnt matter what bike i ride (except kups and scooters la), i still can keep my bags. Then again, how versatile can the bags be? Am new to bags here but are these bags come with universal bag mounts or do we buy a new mounts/do something to get it on a different bike?

Okay, saw this 39cc petrol PB krr replica going on sale for $400. Claimed to be in mint condition, rode only twice. Any idea if the price is good? I wanna get a PB but i have tight budget because i'm still a student with little cash to spare. This is HK PB scene: They have fun closed circuits to play in!
-
Not this month man...got my exams on and after that will be CNY But would like to know more about PBs first. What will be the advantage/disadvantages of a batt-electric operated PB vs a petrol operated PB? Saw a sales by a fellow bro there in garage sales selling a batt operated PB, very tempted ler

List of 2b crusiers: http://www.singaporebikes.com/forum/index....topic=69367&hl= Any more advise of getting a 2nd hand from CKA?
-
Thanks everyone for your advises I'm not so worried about how far i am able to customize these beautiful cruisers because i have plans of taking class 2A and upgrading to higher cc bikes after my P plate year. (Probably selling the bike in the next 2 yrs) So i guess i'll be going after a 2nd hand bike. Since CKA replace all the nessersary components and put the same price tags on all their 2nd hand bikes, is it more reliable or safe to buy from them? And also, which bike have a better resale value?
-
haha...garret is a borned lacer, no doubt about that.. im just going to be cruising around and stay good for my P plate year. i got plans to upgrade to class 2a bikes, so just cruise for now and train to handle heavy bikes proud to be in the dark side by the way i spot a daelim rider in NP nowadays with a dark black visor helmet, is he here in the forum?
-
haha garrett, lacer ar...alvin here...upgrading from kinesis bicycle to some crusier by march...
-
Victory is sweet! Very bold and nice futuristic design. Less chrome but more curvage. Looks more like a tourer if you ask me.
-
Ah, i see... Still quite stucked between which cruiser to try for a beginner class 2b. Quite afraid that the bike will be too big for me to handle as i'm considered small or average sized singapore. Currently riding my uncle's wave but will need to buy a bike soon because he wants his bike back soon.

Yeah, read a lot about honda phantom and its benefits. So is there any points that daelim would have advantage over phantom? I wouldn't mind paying more for quality parts but im looking more at a maintenence/hassle free ride. CKA sell high priced pre-owned daelim bikes?
-
I'm considering to switch to riding cruisers but considering between Phantom TA200, daelim magma and daelim daystar. I personally feel that phantom is too common. Comparing fuel consumption and performance, which is better? And any specific riding or servicing problems with any of the above cuisers? Please advise, thanks bros.
