  1. very nicely restored machines
  2. any classic kawa riders out there? z1, z900 or z1000 from the late 70's to early 80's? would love to get my hands on one.
  3. my mate has this moto guzzi limited edition...only like a few hundred in the world and only 1 in s'pore...full of exotic kit, ohlins here and there, carbon fibre everywhere.
  4. The old tiger can be taken off road by an experience rider...it is a handful of a machine. The new one is almost a sport bike hunter/killer in the hands of a capable rider. BMW's are reliable machines, but the lack soul because they are so technically advanced that they have become almost clinical. On the other hand bikes with character, like the triumphs and the italians, have soul but sometimes, when **** happens and you will want to just rip their innards apart, usually accompanied by loads of swearing and heartache (to the heart and wallet (sometimes) to sort out the mess....but get it right, they provide their riders with loads of smiles and pride.
  5. the first "new (t409)" tiger is a real bike...all the rest have gone ..granted that they are technically superior, easy to ride, handle and fast machines, they lack the character, feel, style, intimidating looks and sound of the first model of the new era triumph's! that baby was a head turner that had an attitude..it was a man's bike! only 5 examples left in s'pore...there is an exceptional example in black somewhere. there maybe a blue one that has been motarded as well....
  6. buying a bigger cc or smaller cc machine really depends on what it is used for....
  7. go and speak to Kenny if u need to dort out triples, if keen to ride machine long term, should keep some of the parts mentioned as spares.
  8. its a marque that was screwed up by the lack of dealer support in S'pore. true lovers of the bike must be willing to put up with this crap in order to enjoy this machine! the problem is that once you have ridden a triple, you will always love the machine for its sweet performance, reliabilty(if well maintained) and stunning looks
  9. saw a mean looking, double digit, new age triple recently...is it one of yours?
  10. there are some old timers who are big bike collectors. they do not go around announcing their collection. these individuals have warehouses to store their machines and do not even ride them. you either need a lot of time or deep pockets to restore classic machines in s'pore as we have crap support when it comes to classic's. imho, there are minimal vintage machines left on the road and mostly what we see today, in terms of classics, are the remnants on the late 70's and early 80's if any. we do get the occasional machine from the 50's and 60's that they are indeed a rarity. its great to see that there are still people out there who appreciate the older machines for their character and engineering achievements of that era. parts and reliable/friendly/accomodating/not cocky/efficient mech's who can do the job has always been the true pain of a classic bike nut and I continue to believe it will be the same for a long time to come! before getting a particular model, do check out on the particular faults of the machine to ensure that they can be sorted out. the cb's while generally tough bikes, which i love, have a chain driven primary gear, which requires you to completely split the crank cases to change..... i know the location of a gpz1100 but it requires heaps and heaps and heaps of cash to rebuild. the gs/gsx's are good machines to start a project on. you can still find some parts in s'pore.
  11. only 20 units registered as of 31/12/06.. is there a MG launch coming up?
  12. Manual written for cold climate....let the engine run for a minute or so and you can ride off at decent speeds but DO NOT rev the sh*t out of the bike for the first few km...u want the oil and engine to get to its operating temp before you do that. Magneto are for really old bikes, triumphs have been running CDI for a very very very long time now. are you refering to the oil cooler on the frame near the engine of the rectifier mounted in between your forks beneath the light? either way try not to obstruct airflow On air filters...never a right or wrong answer, depends on what you want to do and how you want the bike to look. open pods look great and is good for top end but when riding in the rain it could be a problem and bottom end suffers as well....
