Sadly the 12s and the 14s are way of my budget. Also with an old bike i can work on it my self:) Does anyone know if the zzr1100 are high maintenance machines? considering the age of these bikes are at least 10 yr and more is the power still decent?

Hi there! nice ride! I gave been itching to start a project so been viewing and looking around recently. Viewed a ZZR 1100 94 D model recently. its got a leaking engine, sticky throttle and clanky gear box. Overall looks of it i will rate it 3/10. Do you think it'll be a good idea to work on something like this or patiently wait for something better to come along? Crossed my mind too to fighter this machine:)

yea that is correct. using 1000 grid sand paper to wet sand will only remove microns of paint. if not confident then use 2000 grid also can. even more fine. i know the idea seem funny. but because oil compound from his wax during his rescue efforts have sipped into the matt paint job thus making it shine. To rid that, this method works just wipe dry aftr that and end of story. If it was to remove blurry fine scratches from clear coated paint jobs, smooth peanut butter also can. but in this case it is a matt finish so..wet sanding.

Here is me giving a 2nd life to a old leather chair and bike seat. Salvaged some sponge and uphostry from a discarded office chair. I had in mind the back of an old leather sofa but never come across one. That would have been a good source of material possibly even the cleanest as no butts would land there for sure! Some packing material and air-con insulation and about 200 staples. You will need the notice board gun staples makes your job way easy. no sure how long this will last but when time comes i'll do it all over again in whatever colour material I may come across. its fun and most importantly its green too!

Broken bleed screw
motopsycho replied to h4hahak1m's topic in General Servicing, Maintenance, Technical & D.I.Y. Discussions
try this use a 1)******* file and flatten the surface. Busturd file.. roughest file.. 2)centre punch in the middle of the extractor. 3)drill through... But make sure to check its depth and not to go too deep. there is a shop along King george that custom brake lines and exhaust links they also sell bleeding screws. about $3.50 if i am not wrong.... Bring your old one along so that try the thread out. -
Broken bleed screw

I am facing the same problem now. I intend to dril out the insides of the old screw and slowly remove the thread. Make sure to replace new ones with stainless steel nipples. they are alot more hardy. BTW heli screw set cost about $80
