Hi all, After long consideration I think I have to sell my red YZF R-15. I bought it in December 2010, and I hardly rode it because of the weather and safety issues, opting to drive instead. Another major downside was that I like sports bikes but if I don't ride them often, their battery conks out.. which happened 3 times to me already and is a BIG hassle to rectify. Plus now, I am currently overseas in USA on a study course and I don't forsee me riding my bike even occasionally (if it can even start). It has now got another bout of flat battery or non functioning spark plug issues too again due to long period of non-usage, even worse.. it is due for inspection in January. I'm wondering how much can it fetch if I put it for sale once I fix the batt/spark plug? Condition wise I took pretty good care of it, although some dirt streaks are on the fairings (Think those can be cleaned?) Only accidentally dropped it once, so got a few minor scratches on some of the left parts. Thanks, I will only be back in Singapore from 4-14 Dec so might have to get it sold during that period. Even better is if I can find somebody to buy it cheaper and he/she go fix the bike himself or herself, because I won't have the time to do so. Better somebody use it than it continues rotting at my house.

Hi, I'm a casual ride and am currently using an AGV full face helmet, the sponge is tight and uncomfortable and it's a hassle to put on and remove. (My head is average/lower-than-average size) I'm looking for helmet which is comfortable and looks nice; anybody can recommend anything and where do I buy them? I rather not buy at LAB since I'm not so familiar with all that. Are scrambler helmets the best? Where can I get them? Are tinted visors not allowed? I would prefer to have one, I don't understand why tinted visors are banned when it's essentially the same as wearing tinted sunglasses... Thanks for the help. D

hi, noob here looking for advice: i think i bot my AGV helmet from LAB, sponge is quite tight around my head and ears. is that normal? i understand its safer to have a more secure and thick sponge but i would rather compromise abit for comfort. anywhere has a wide range of nice helmets and does not rip noobs off? budget wise not big an issue. also, i heard that tinted visors are not allowed? but ive seen ppl wear it on the road, they buy from JB ah? Thanks!

Nope. Stock bike, only changed the wheels to the fatter ones and battery like the mechanic advised. (at queensway shopping center that area, forgot the name) Anyway, confirm something wrong with bike liao, I ran the engine for 2 hours+ and when switched off engine, battery completely died. Nothing at all, lights, etc. Something very wrong somewhere. But I'm quite surprised that this bike need to run engine periodically if not using. did not know bike battery discharges pretty fast. because nowadays i usually drive, bike is just for occasional night riding / contingency plan / or when weather/traffic conditions optimal.

Hi I have a battery problem with my R15, Bought in Jan 2011, riding very infrequently (sometimes once every few weeks). In August, battery went flat because never use for quite long. Could push start (roll down hill version). But still would battery would go flat because never use for some time. Went mechanic, he replaced battery, and said every few days / once a week must rev ethe engine for 45 mins? (like that sounds pretty troublesome if you go overseas or dont use your bike regularly?) Then now, I never use for only 8 days with the new battery, then tried, could not work again. so roll down hill and start. And now leaving the engine idle running to charge the battery. How long do I let it run? I'm afraid if leave it running might over charge and might damage the bike. But I tried charging for about 45 mins and again could not electric start (too short while). had to roll start YET AGAIN. Roll start is quite fun but can be dangerous. So rather not do it too much

excel cycle is also around 7.5k OTR like all the other shops. their ads are misleading. they got their 6.5k OTR "price" by quoting an outdated (2 years ago) COE price and not including important stuff like IR unit, etc. someday might join u all for outing but atm parents strongly disapprove of me riding to msia. also parking bike in sg got some difficulties. some shopping centers carparks do not allow bikes to park inside. can be very awkward or problematic if you try to enter and find out cannot go in. Cineleisure is one of them heheh. and for basement car parks what if ride down to the entry gantry below and denied access? how can get out like that??

thanks for the info. i think ill change the tyres definitely, not sure about the fork. im pretty simple just need the bike, for transport and maybe resell to upgrade if 2A, so dont want to do too much mods. but now everyday rains, and can rain all of a sudden. very unpredictable weather affecting bikers. btw, now rain so much, need to do any extra maintenance for bike? also got to do any monthly maintenance? i have it for one month, but riding it sparingly (partly due to frequent rain). now only got ~350 km mileage on it. need to lube chains or do stuff?

been riding my new r15 for several weeks. quite different from riding those BBDC bikes. the front of the sports bike is heavier so need higher speed when turning. this also makes me got to lean out when turning. have not practiced sharp turnings yet, maybe one day i'll train figure of 8 on my bike haha the stickers on the stock bike is there way to completely remove them properly? using alcohol or petrol?
