hi juz wanna ask tat if u park ur bike without moving but juz warming up,after warming up the is some steam-like smoke coming out from your exhuast is it normal and i check that the exhust gt some water once i have warmed-up, is it normal? btw i am riding a cbr4.:cry:

rain or shin i still park it there.. cus is under lay-up no choice .. so i have to keep warm up..

One of the by products of combusting hydrocarbon fuels with oxygen is water, which appears as steam.

 

The moisture tends to condensate in the exhaust muffler when cooled and the liquid left act as an electrolyte that promotes galvanic corrosion. That is why most 4 stroke bike exhaust mufflers tend to rot from the inside.

 

In layman terms... its called rust.

 

You could park the bike under shelter all the time, the presence of water vapour in the exhaust gases is still there.

Whether it is visible to you or not is just a question of how humid the air is at that time and how cold the ambient temperature is.

i got the same problem 2 my bike last time... but doubt itz was juz water... coz got smell de... a very strong smell of petrol... i duno wad happen coz i sold it off le... lol..
