the full force of forcing yrself to wake up everyday, to drag yrself to face the boss & workloads... to work jus to exchange for $$ every mth...

Hey guys, for the outing i suddenly have something on last min. But if you guys are going to stay until late then i'll join you once i've cleared my stuffs yea? So sorry.

Ehh, I don't think I can make it for the outing. Trying very hard to sort out my priorities this week before I start my APT-dumdumdum-attachment... 6 months. Still no bike.

 

Beat, I told my mum about the license. She was upset about me hiding it from her, but otherwise quite... alright. As "alright" as a betrayed parent could be. Then, the next day, she came back and told me that she just witnessed a fatal bike accident (I quote, "the girl was in a very odd position, and her foot was twitching. Guy was sitting at the curb, head in his hands,").

 

She doesn't think it's a waste if I never use my license i.e. no permission granted to ride bike.

 

Anyway, be prepared for a similar backlash when you finally let your parents in on the secret... There's really no way around it. Let's hope yours are more open to riding, I suppose?

actually theres way to phsyco ur parents around if u really wan to ride.my parents dn let me ride in the first place,i rmb seeing forum gt tis thread before saying abt how to deal with parents to let u ride bike.my way is abit forceful.i gt my license first then then abt one week later i buy my first bike which is sp,3 days later then my parents found out tat i gt license and bike.they found out when i went down cover my bike with canvas as my helmets are all downstairs hanging on my bike.kana scolding for a few days then nothing happen jus tat keep on nagging for safety.last yr sept sold my bike then tis yr april i convince my parent by counselling them and bought a bike again.

Thanks! Actually, what I meant was there's no way around the scolding. I thought about doing that, which is why I'm saving up for a bike atm, but the problem lies in the execution. Didn't your parents force you to sell off the bike?

well, no doubt all parents will be worried for their children especially when it comes to bike.

i persuaded them easily because my older bro has a bike as well at the same disallowed because 4years back my dad got into an accident.

 

let them gain the trust in you, slowly.

frankly speaking, my mother still smses me whenever i'm late out with my bike to ask about my safety.

do your part as a child, to assure them. at the same time, assure your own safety.

your family loves you more than anyone else.

Thanks! Yeah, it's the parental concern thing. Mine still remind me not to speed when I drive, especially in the middle of the night. Still, I suppose it takes longer to get them to accept this new hobby of mine, considering that I'm a girl.

Mhmm, bikes depreciate the most within the first year of purchase. Way not worth it to buy and sell.

Ehhh nooo decapitation, that would very, very disturbing. I was told the rider survived, but he was sitting at the curb side looking guilty as hell. I don't think his gf made it...

 

Yeah, that's why. No one every wants to tell the good stories cos they are way too boring. Boils down to this: I might be ready to accept the risks involved with riding, but my parents aren't.

 

Oh well. Slowly slowly, or never at all.
