I dont work for them... I guess "us" means the general public.. I'm one of them too... I am keen to try it out tho, since it'll save some money. Just thought maybe others would llike to be guinea pig too.

Ha ha, I like your style, cause I also like to try out new things....like new brands of EO, tyres, etc..... :thumb:

I'll not join in for this slick tyre thingy not because my adventurous spirit is not there, but I'm short on cash after some repairs to my bike and my frens would laff their heads off to see slick tyres (though with grooves) on my bike as they know I'm only a track hogger

But I could recommend to some of my frens who are interested.

How much savings are we looking at if the slicks is $450 while Racetechs is also $450 from LAB? Or you mean, the more ppl we have for slicks, the lower the price like a MO?

Eh, not legal right?

Illegal... The thread pattern will be cut like the D.O.T. approved Racetecs. Not recommended if your track bike is also your transport bike. As for the savings... I don't know how to answer that. I never knew LAB sold K2s for such a low price...

I am told some shops already mass order... JR did not reveal whom, but observe closely next time we go for the Johor Circuit track day...Maybe Same bikes, special tyres.

How about justifying the change by telling yourself, "better tyre, same price"? I believe that's the only way I could convince myself...

Posted

I was told by JR they are offering the slick tires in lots of 5 sets for:

1. $420 (120/180)

2. $435 (120/190)

Who would like to consolidate orders and get one lot of 5 sets?

1. Gery Kam - 98303389 (120/190 x 1set)

2.

3.

4.

5.

Anyone can give up - it's the easiest thing to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart; that's true strength!

Has anyone (successfully) used BT014 on the track for cl. 2 bike? If yes, can share the tyre pressures used front n rear?

Can someone also please enlighten me what tyre pressure to use on Metzelers/ Pirellis?

ANY 1 tried the continental tires?

I'm using Continental ContiForce Max. Okay....wear is really good, grip is normal, takes 2 laps at least to warm up around PG. 3 sessions at PG already, groove still deep like mad  Each session is between 15 - 17 laps.

I'm more than 2 min/lap, just to let you know my standard  I feel that DC grips better.

Maybe you could try popping down LAB or HKL, and you could get a better deal instead of D208ZR.

Hey Hilary, what was the pressure you recommended me for my DCs?

My first session was great, but it was cloudy, set a personal best time. 2nd session when the sun came out, after 25minutes, the rear started slipping already, had a big wriggle at turn3 which totally spoiled my confidence afterwards... :sian:
