What is the best 2b bike in the market now?

need a bike for work... am a bit lost at what are the new models..... so.....

 

would appreciate some recommendations

 

need a bike purely for transport, uncle already, dont need the bike to look good

 

the following would be good

 

1) easy maintainence

2) reliable

3) good FC with a decent sized tank (travel around for work, sometimes >100 km per day)

 

i see yamaha sniper put fwd by someone earlier. looking at more of scooter type

I was considering between the Duke 200 and 200NS too. Although I budgeted for the Duke 200, I eventually went with the 200NS. Not only that I couldn't justify the extra cost of the Duke over the NS, I actually preferred the styling of the NS. Of course, this is a very personal choice. But I also do intend to do my 2A and subsequently 2, so a lower cost bike likely result in lower depreciation when I have to sell it to get a larger bike in the future too.

I think you can't go too wrong with the Wave. There's a good reason you see it EVERYWHERE! Low fuel consumption, relatively low cost of running, parts are very available, and the reliability is just phenomenal. I actually read that a Malaysian biker rode a Wave all the way to LONDON!!

But it's fuel injection. It will cost you a bomb if it need repair. YBR 125 still the best. Easy to maintain. Cheap to maintain also. Best fuel saver.

 

I think this is a very common misconception about fuel injection. While it certainly is true that it will cost more to "repair" a fuel injector - mainly because you can't quite repair it. You actually replace it, as compared to repairing the internals of carburetors. Also, this notion came about when FI was newly introduced, and most mechanics were only trained to repair carbs and were unfamiliar with fuel injectors. Of course, "repairing" something unfamiliar tends to cost more.

 

But fuel injectors technology have come a very long way! And it will be hard pressed these days to find a decent mechanic who have not touched a vehicle which is fuel injected. They are so reliable now that as long as you are using decent quality fuel, it's virtually impossible to break it. I don't have experience with FI bikes (yet), but some years ago, my first car was a 13-year old Civic. It was fuel injected, and I drove it until it was 19 years old before I scrapped it. While I had to change many parts due to wear and tear on the car due to its age, I never had to touch the fuel injectors. Of course, at that age, a little bit of fuel system cleaner (Redline SI-1) once in a while probably helped too.

any recommendation for a bike with a larger fuel tank so that one full tank can go further? as i will be travelling quite a bit

the msx 125 gives a good 50-60km/litre. and parts are not too ex coz honda.
