Buying Used Bike from Private Seller - how to check for outstanding Loan

Hi,

 

I'm a new rider and planning to buy a second-hand bike from a private seller. My question is how do I know there's no outstanding loan on the bike? When I go to the LTA office with the seller for the transfer, will the LTA office be able to inform me if there's any outstanding load on the bike?

Eh, if there is any outstanding loan LTA won't process the transfer.

 

My last bike transfer was stopped as bike shop didn't clear the loan record... end up me and x owner have to go LimTeh for sometime until the bike shop clear the hire purchase from the LTA database.

 

So quite safe la.

 

But LTA no link with ah Long and enemies records. Haha
