Check that your lock is not jammed or stick together as in the mechanism, it happens especially after rain. Spray with WD-40 to loosen up the lock mechanism inside the key hole and the hook mechanism too. if it still don't work, best is go piaggio at genting since if you need to get a new lock you can always get it immediately on the 3rd floor spare parts. I fnot you can try tai hin @ ubi, future scooter @Kallang...etc. Don't worry about going to agent the spare parts price is resonable unless of course you know the market value.

Glad it works and nothing is broken. Normal oil is good enough unless it's rusty and dry then you need WD-40 or any penetrant

Hi guys! Im riding ST200.. My headlight was found cracked.. i wonder hw much does it cost for a replacement??Must i change the whole set or can i just change the cover?? I have once check at a bike shop at ubi,which i forgt wats the bike shop name is, he said if i want to change it will cost me $160 for e whole headlight set..He said i cant jus change the cover.. I must change the whole set...Is it true??

I quite puzzled about kelvar belt lifespan for runner. Can someone enlighten me? Newbie here.

 

Actually I quite curious about the lifespan our bike is using. Some say 10k km must change, some say 12k+ km. Some even say 18k km (I'm one of them, still alive). I know the belt lifespan depend on the style rider. But what puzzled me is that, I thought kelvar belt suppose to last longer. But how come the lifespan is only 10-12k km? Like those normal belt?

CVT Kevlar belt usually can last >30k km..but i dono for gilera la..

Depends on rider la. i have ever seen a belt snap after 1K +

Hi everybody, wanna ask few question regarding gilera vxr model. I just bought a 2nd hand gilera. I pump full tank but the fuel bar dun show full and it only show half tank. but ride for half an hr later den the fuel bar show full tank. Is it normal?

 

I ride till 160 km den the fuel bar show 1 bar than after that show no bar but there r no reserve light coming out. May i knw wat is the problem.

probably your fuel indicator float issue. Float in your fuel tank tells yr bike how much petrol you have left. I dont know, far as I know lot's of bikes have this problem. I have it too, but i just ignore it. I just get an estimate of how much petrol i have left and top up like the kiasu singaporean I am.

 

Observe your fuel consumption by clocking milage and taking note of petrol used when you top up and see if it's really the problem.

How often do you guys actually do the following;

Change oil, filter, plug, roller, belt?

 

How often do you wash your carburator? Is tuning necessary?

 

What other practices can i have to ensure a better boy-bike-relationship?

 

Where are the best places to get accessories? (mug guard, fuel cap, new fairings?) east would be good.

 

 

These questions should be simple for most of you, appreciate whatever help I can get.

Every 1 month change EO.

Every 3 month change oil filter and plug. If got money roller also.

Every 6 month wash ur air filter. If no money change ur roller now. Check ur back tyre, most likely becoming botak already.

Every year flush ur radiator n change coolant. Brakepads also gone by this time i reckon. Want to service carb also go ahead.

Every 15000KM change belt or whenever u feel da slack.

 

This was taken from thread gilera st 200.

As for full service depends on individual but according to my botak mechanic he stated that if use stock items around 15000 to 18000. If beside stock items im not too sure bro i always use stock items according to botak's consultation.

Change oil, filter, plug, roller, belt? ANSWER : OIL FILTER EVERY INTERVAL OF 6K. ENGINE OIL EVERY 3K. ROLLER EVERY 6K. BELT EVERY 12K.

 

How often do you wash your carburator? Is tuning necessary?

 

ANSWER : 6 MONTHS ONCE.

 

What other practices can i have to ensure a better boy-bike-relationship?

 

ANSWER: Regular oil and coolant checks are necessary as this is a liquid cooled engine. Always take note of weird noises if there are any if you are not familiar with the scooter. Preferably send it down to the workshop for some checks... most common problems for the runner exist within the clutch though.

 

Where are the best places to get accessories? (mug guard, fuel cap, new fairings?) east would be good.
