Best that you bring your log card along.If you forget , it's ok coz just ask around

& they will take down your engine & chassis #.They will check their records on their computer & inform you.If it's theirs,they will tell you to follow them into 1 of the offices & ask you which shop you bought your bike,when & total current mileage.After every thing is complete,they will give you the warranty card.

But make sure that you have the stamp for every service intervals stated on the warranty card by BS authorise shops or your warranty is as good as no warranty !

hi all, just want to know tat have u all change ur brake pads b4?if yes, wats ur mileage? from wat i know is about 20000km once right? but for mine now is onli 11000km and it start to have the funny sound already, like metal rub against metal. not sure wheather is it time to replace liao anot...

Dear Boon Siew folks,

 

There have been lots of bikes of the above mentioned model having burnt magnetic coils.

 

This is not an isolated case and both 2004 and 2005 models are affected.

 

Clearly the coil that ships on this model is defective. I ride a 2004 model, and although warranty has expired, I believe there should be an extended warranty to cover the magnetic coil problem.

 

I believe Boon Siew has direct support from Honda Japan, pls advise if there is any Honda Technical Info on this, how this problem can be diagnosed / prevented, and if you will issue a recall.

 

Also advise under what circumstances will Boon Siew issue a recall.

 

The FireBlade is an extreme sports bike. Problem of this sort may result in serious injury or even death.

 

I am sure Boon Siew is aware of this problem, and I would like to know if Boon Siew is exercising any due diligence.

It depends a lot on your riding style. You can check the brake pads indicator to see if you need to have 'em replaced.

On Sat morning, Raptor's coil also got burnt at GP Esso. Lucky it didn't happen in KL.

 

On the way back from KL today, saw a Repsol Blade with red head lights. Is it anyone from this forum?

Raptor called me @ 11.45pm friday night asking me about the symptoms

if the coil got burnt.When I told him what to looked for,he said that his neutral

light was bright & not dimmed.He said he suspected the batt or rectifier.I told

him why not checked it with a volt meter.He did not have one.

I told him later why not you open up the coil cover just to make sure.

Raptor told me "cannot be the coil lah coz my neutral light doesn't dimmed !"

 

Sat 9.06am I received sms from Raptor informing me , he's with AT at bike shop in full leathers waiting for the mechanic to changed coil.Confirmed coil burnt !

It came in a separate box for all repsol design 1000RR.The stickers cost $200+

I didn't go to Sepang. Was busy, when I was done, it was about 5 pm. Made my way, but it was starting to rain, so I turned back.

Now you're the lucky one left

The symptoms when you cannot start the bike.Push start ok , after riding

off ignition.Try to start again bike cannot start, case confirm !

Coz when you ride it above 3000rpm then the batt start to charge itself.

If the batt did not charge itself , either rectifier or magnetic coil but most likely

will be the coil.This is a known issue about the coil.As I said earlier they

should fix it coz it is happening to most bikes worldwide !

Have to agree with you Tashi,this coil problem has been going on for a bit to long for it to be ignored by Honda and Boon Siew.

Please put more Coils in the Coil Honda,Thanks.

Anyway would have been nice to have met up at sepang,saturday was great but today sucked only managed to get in 8 laps before it rained,wash out.

Weather at Sepang quite funny ley... Rain a while, then stop, rain a while, then stop. Early morning got 4 bikes crash at Turn 4 already due to wet road... Hope those who went had enjoyed themselves...

11,000 ++ ley... But it's because his is a parallel import... So they can't warranty him
