Without a doubt we like/love the bike,

thats why we're still here paying for the coils that burns again & again...

Hoping HONDA finally come to their senses

Whats FRUSTRATING is the way HONDA handles the problem... denying? ignoring? HELLO!!! AT LEAST GIVE US SOMETHING

Being treated this way, how long can we stay with HONDA...

Its not the bike thats turning us away...

Its them, the MAKERS of HONDA who turned away from us...

may they got tired selling bikes...hmmm?

from the C-50 Cub to this Fireblade, i've had 7 bikes, all Honda...

This is suppose to be the best... therefore must have better support...

After putting on that K&N filters and initially making 230Km before reserve,

I been hitting 260Km before reserve, again...lately...

Maybe i got over that that stage when filters are new... whaaaack... whaaaackkk...

the burnt coil which was 5 mos old... was replaced, free with 6 mos parts warranty

i paid for the flywheel...

labor was not mention in my receipt, so it must be free...

Lameboy83 - welcome to the bladers' club. it's a good bike, just let down by the stator.

Tashi - don't mention it, who can reject you :cheeky:

I haven't had the time to call BS or write to Honda, really busy these few days. Will try to find some time soon to get all these done.

Anybody reads FastBikes? They have a legal section where readers can write to them for free advise and they are good and honest in their replys. No, not the writers who reply. But by a lawyer biker :) Maybe we can write to him on this issue. I'm sure Honda won't mind the extra publicity if it does get published.

Good idea, you write and let us know ok? :cheeky:

Maybe the labour charge has been disguised in the flywheel price. Heh.

A followup from last week's mini outing, Gary has booked us for 2pm to test ride the new Nightrods. Anybody wants to test ride the Harley?

Rommel - Enough of your excellent mileage already, you making me all jealous again...

Writing ain't my forte. Hmm... now I've got to write to FB, BS and Honda... So many things to do so little time. Haven't even got my bike details yet. Are the details on the log card? sh*t! Where's my log card now :help:

I just spoke to Korno just now. His bike had done almost 23,000km, no problems.

LD, are you going to Aprilia next yr?

The 07 R1 on onefour02's siggy looks nice.

I've checked FB and noticed they only deal with advise for injury claims and motoring offences. What the heck took my chance and dropped them a mail.

Tashi - I've always loved the Aprilia, my 1st bike was an RS and I still miss it. The handling was suberb for a 125cc bike. They are coming up with a V4 1000cc for 2008 WSB! I'm very very tempted to switch over next year if my budget permits. Pay increment plus big fat bonus pretty please!!! Or maybe a Jap(exclude Honda) 600/750.

They replied within a day, that's service! And guess what? He rides a 06 RR!

Subject: Stator problem

Dear xxx

Thanks for the email.

Fundamentally in the UK there are consumer protection regulations which, from the limited information in the email, I think could apply.

Basically, when the dealer does the work they have provided a service and that service should use parts of satisfactory quality and fit for the purpose. Now we get to the problem. Effectively to have any potential right of action you would have to show the stators are either faulty (unlikely) or not fit for the purpose. That would require a forensic engineers report and they costs a lot - frequently in excess of £1,000.

If the report shows that the parts are not of satisfactory quality or fit for the purpose (to a level that if it went to Court the Judge would agree) then the repairer has to put it right.

In a nutshell that is it. Getting the report will be expensive and there will be no guarantee of a favourable report. You could cough up £1,000 and get no where.

I also assume (1) the faults are not repairable under warranty? (2) your bike is not a parallel or grey import? If the former then you may not be liable for the costs and if (2) it could be adjustments have been made which upset the parts functionality.

Finally I have a 06 RR and having done 4,000 miles in 4 months have not encountered a single problem. It could simply be I have been lucky or you have just been unlucky. However, the report would appear, on the limited information available, to be the only route and that is a high risk (ie expensive) route.

Yours sincerely

Ronald, you better call me big bro. :cheeky:

Am I going? I'm already practising how to sing the school song. What a small world.

LD, go hire a lawyer. Very high chance of winning the case. After that, can sue for the legal fees, and non-pecuniary losses (distress, dissapointment and the like).

Then complain to the Trade Director. They have powers to take all the Fireblades back for testing. If there are issues, they can confiscate all the Fireblades from BS or the dealers.

Really such a small world, great to hear from a fellow monkshillian. Ya I still remember how to sing the school song.

Today, just read that got abt 100 over Yamaha bikes that include R1, FZ6 are being recall due to faulty trottle that will shut down the engine.

So now only left Kawasaki bikes without faults already. :sian:

Well, at least Yamaha issued a recall. Kawasaki's bike had faulty rims, they also issued a recall. All safety related issues have recalls.

Honda issued a recall on faulty speedometers, but compared to the coils, the significance of a slight variance in speed cannot be compared to the safey issues posed by stator burns.

Who's feeling rich? Please take up the challenge and sue Honda!~~~ :cheeky:

I think you better keep your Blade. If you ever go touring with us again, how to catch up.

I'm spoilt by sportsbikes. I'm too used to the power and torque of a litre sports. I'm not used to being overtaken by cars. I should have felt inadequate on this bike, yet I don't. This bike exudes a certain form of character. This is the 06 Nightrod. The 07 Nightrod Special is much nicer. It's a good bike to ride slow. Perhaps this will be the bike for me when I'm over 60.

Going touring alone on this bike would be very slow, tiring and boring. I could immediately feel why Harley riders like to travel in huge groups.

Juzt email the bike info to Boon Siew,....
