The best is to protect it with Raceshield, I had one custom made for the speedometer. When washing that part, no matter how lightly you rub it, it'll get scratched eventually.

My advise is to get those fibreglass race fairing. Get those street version. More expensive but it worth the money. Reasons are,

1) The ABS fairing will warped from the heat by the header and mid pipe. You will need to wrap the exhaust and paste the fairing with heat wrap to prevent it from happening. This will add up to alot already.

2) The stock fairing installation is a bit*h. There are too many pieces. The aftermarket fairing only consist of the top and bottom fairing which makes installation simple.

3) The ebay ABS uses cheap ABS material. It will crack easily upon impact. By right fairing are supposed to provide a certain form of protection for the bike upon falling down. But a easily cracked plastic isn't going to do that. You will not only lose the fairing (Unrepairable) and might also cause your frame to scratch.

He anyhow say one.. Don't believe him :cheeky:. Foam as in the heat shield? So far I checked with 1000rr.net forum, they did lots of trial and error. The only solution is to wrap the header and paste heat shield on the fairing. The paint work is quite good for a china made. I am impressed as well. It is basically looks over function. But it is cheap to consider.

If you want value for money fiberglass street fairing, you can consider sebimoto which is brought in by Biketech21. But get ready for the long lead time if he do not have stock. Sharkskinz will be the best as it comes drilled. So it is easier to fix up.

Hello people i need help. I just passed my Class 2 this tuesday. Might be getting used CBR 1000 08 soon(any recommendation?). Have some questions as below

If i FULL CASH the bike(no loan from bike shop), meaning there is no agreement fee??

And if the initial machine price is $XXXX will it increase since they are not earning any interest from me?

What should i look out for? Mileage? Engine Problems???

Is there any warranty since the bike are still quite new???

PLEASE HELP. I AM A NOOB IN BUYING BIKE.

by right if u full cash the bike, shouldn't have any agreement fees since no loan is being taken up... Get them to give u a detailed breakdown of all the charges in black and white.......Just like what Dino says, do not let them know u will be full cashing the bike.... Bikeshop sales person very weird wan.. They always assume u will be taking loan.... When u tell them u want to full cash the bike, their expression = Priceless........

When u getting a 2nd hand bike, I doubt it will be still under warranty from the authorised agent...... Most likely will be in-house warranty from the bike shop..... Try to ask for 2 months or minimum 1 month....... As for the bike condition.... Either u get some experienced biker frens to go with u or u can ask those bros riding the 08.....

Some of the areas that u should check are the swingarm, chassis, sub-frame, forks, radiator and rims...... These are the parts tat will suffer significant impact and damages when there is an accident and these are the parts that are very costly to replace..... Mileage wise...... Meter can be changed anytime so depends on how it look at it.... Extremely low mileage does not mean it is a good thing...... As for the engine, sadly u will only know whether it is problem free after u bought the bike....This is a risk u have to take when u buy a 2nd hand bike.... If you are not willing to take the risk, u can pay more for a 1st hand....... Very little or no bike shop will allow u to bring the bike out and let yr trusted mechanic inspect the bike before u buy........

Hope the above helps.
