i am planning a weekend trip to melacca with 2 more harleys. also will be busy on tuesday to plan a proposal to management. so left with thursday.(wed follow up), so is as good as no shutdown for me....

 

I do am tempted to join u to go cameron. what say u 3 harleys join ur frens..?

My side we have 3 harleys n 5 heads. 2 couples + 1 gooseberry(me). + you sounds good to me haha. ya lodging is a problem..

btw we can KIV this place, my colleague is checking it out tomorrow. will let me know whether it is worth the bucks. bobs homestay

anyway, since we r on the topic of touring. wld anyone be interested to do a MO for GPS and accessories from GPScity? we can share shipping.

 

ytd tried my pda one, the thing takes forever to get a fix, in fact i already reach home liao somemore

 

got 2 options.

 

option 1: get a waterproof GPS from garmin and buy the handlebar mount and cradle from RAM mount.

 

option 2: get a cheaper GPS which isn't waterproof and buy the aquabox (for waterproofing) and the handlebar mount from ram mount.

 

for those who have seen my ram mount handlebar mount, u shld know the quailty of it

MC's is the garmin nuvi 550 which is waterproof. which is option 1.

 

i'll be taking option 2 cause i feel its a better deal. it'll b a garmin too

 

the ram mount is universal

no nid waterprrof la...do it uncle style....cut d top half of 1 lite PET bottle then use rubber band n tie it on d Garmin ..

practical use....

 

ok lor... not too expensive hor...else buy areadi , d bike no $ for petrol den hv to park at home everyday....

hw much is the nuvi550 (waterproof)?

eastgear is selling for S$569 (same MC's model)

 

what is the price that u can get for the whole mounting set? (cradle+ arm socket+ ball mount)?

 

 

btw, is there a non-waterproof version of the nuvi550?

if there is, and if the price diff of the aquabox + non-waterproof is only abit, might as well get the waterproof one.
