the price for the cheaper alternative no longer stands, the source doesn't have anymore stock for the GPS device. we took too long to confirm. I'll try to source somemore but i dnt think it can be as cheap as shown previously

There's another website tht's offering discounts with purchases of more than 6 pieces of the same item, thus, i'm closing the MO once i hit 7 cause my order is slightly different. sorry for the rush but i dnt want the no stock thing to happen again

juz came back from Chong Pang event.. Bikers United @ Chong Pang Multi RacialCharity Ride... Lots of groups of bikers ther...

Openining Ceremony by K Shamugam, Minister for Law..

Next time there is such Charity Ride, Lets mass mobilise all the Lightriders , how abt dat ??

btw, u guys r welcome to attend d ongoing concert for this Chong PAng event..it wil be till 8 to 10pm.. Venue is beside Sun Plaza,

mine is Holux C35 model i think... hehe..confirm order for mi pls..

Lets also start a MO for BMW 1200 GS Adventure...mayb got 90% discount

charity ride sounds gd, maybe its time we can come out with a "uniform" for such events? those who are gng for the shaving event can wear this too if it can come out in time

Hi all,

Was testing out a friend's Garmin 255 today and here's my review.

Cons

- Cannot charge and use at the same time.

- Most of the models does not come with bluetooth, (will explain later)

- When I missed a turn, takes about 10-15 sec before it detects and recalculate the next route.

- Dunno why, this GPS that I was using only had Jerome's Map...

1. Map does not show all block numbers.

2. Map does not seem to show all the buildings that are around (May be a setting problem)

- Has some problems connecting when there are many buildings around.

*Some of the other GPS I've tested does not have this problem.

- Initially, thought the updating was simple... but turned out to be quite tough...

*When are they going to allow links to the device and update like my nokia phone?

- Lacks many other features.

e.g.

Changing of voice

etc (Or maybe coz I'm a noob...)

But note: I've only used this for less than 5 hrs. gone to 2-3 points only.

- No volume control knob @ the side

Pro

- Auto switches to night mode

- Connection / link to satellite @ a decent speed

- Very sensitive screen (better than most I've used)

My personal verdict...

Other than the issue of the difficulty in updating the map,....

I pref the Honlux GPS with MalSing map.

Ai yoh brother .... when thing vibrate all over the place it's like an earth quake ,everything move ,and you have to keep one hand on it and that's is not proper.

unlike the ram mount ,it vibrates minimally almost as much properly as a vibrator...... and it's handsfree

so you can feel the different quality of pleasure when used :angel:

I bought a CD wif Malsing n Mapking maps... but d Holux SD card when i slot into d laptop, it dun allow mi to copy into it...says its write protected. how ah??

What do you mean cannot copy into it?

IT = ??

If SD card, check to ensure that the card is not locked.

*There is a sliding "lock" @ the side.

If it's the CD, unless your Rom drive is a writer.

If you taking about your laptop... then that'll be strange.

Anyway, MalSing maps does not allow you to simply "upload" / "update" into your device.

The map needs to be "unlocked" before your GPS can read the map.
