i installed a chamber and pipe not too long ago. however, the engine feels very sluggish when throttling and the powerband became very narrow. when compared to stock. the valve opens at 6k still no power. theres only power after 8k rpm till redline.

therefore i have go well into the redline, then do a gearshift. to get the full "power".

the carb, was supposly *tuned* and rejetted already by a bike shop. whether done correctly i dont know.

so, what should i do to rectify the problem? do i need to go for a proper rejet, or do i have to do something more major like engine porting or check backpressure or something?

thanks in advanced :)

when using chamber, the moving off wld be abit sluggish compared to stock pipe. u need either play ard wif ur clutch when moving of or rev higher..

but once moved off and reach the 'open valve', ur bike shld have a more powerful boost compared to stock.. Chamber is always better in terms of performance compared to stock. its the setting that must be right.. cheers..

thanks for all the replys.

i am currently ridding a tzr 125.

i tried airbox without the filter element and without filter. no difference.

currently running w/o airbox.

the stock exhaust seems to "pull" better then the chamber...

engine is stock no porting done.

i happen to have 2 carbs. a stock mikuni 26mm and a generic flatslide 32mm.

which should i install and go for a rejet?

also, will engine porting reduce the "lag" ?

Why not u go back to the shop and ask them what is the problem. For me if u want to use chamber, u need to do porting because the pipe have more airflow thus u need to let more air flow from your cylinder and more airflow to your cylinder. For this u need a bigger carb/port carb and port the block. If your bike is standard no point changing to chamber pipe. Its just loud only, performance not very great.
