if u wanna ride, then lan lan no choice, renew insurance, renew road tax.

thats wat i did.

although i also selling my bike now.

anyway maybe can think of the road tax as value add for your bike lo, then for insurance, u can get back a sum of it back when u cancel ur policy before it ends.

otherwise you can sell the bike nw, and negotiate with the seller.

not much other solutions available i feel..

You can extend your insurance to coincide with the date of your next road tax expiry. This way, you don't have to pay so much for insurance, and can get to renew the road tax.

By the way, in case you do not know, you get a refund(pro-rated), when you cancel out your insurance

Calculation of how much your insurance premium will be depends on the insurer. Every insurer has a different way of calculations. However, the calculations will be based on the date of purchase on status.

Eg:

Your age is 19, and your birthday falls on 31st Dec, after which, you will be 20.

Your P-Plate lasts till 21st Dec 08.

The premium will still be based on the age of 19 with P Plate, if you purchase/extend your insurance on 30 Oct 08.

In short, the premium will be calculated, based on the day you purchase/extend your insurance.
