ST200 Runner owner - 2009 / 2010

hi guys. need help here. Was riding earlier when my bike ran out of petrol. Luckily the petrol station wasn't that far away. So i push my bike to the petrol station and filled my tank. After that I rode as per normal for a while and then my engine died off. I tried starting my engine and it started as per normal but when I throttle, engine died. Again and again it happened. I thought since it was raining, water went in my fuel tank as I wasn't using the fuel tank cap. Could it be the cause of it? Anyway, after a while I tried riding really slow abt 50 to 60 km/h and everything was ok. I really dunnoe whats the cause of this. Anyone here ever encounter this kind of problem?

 

from the description, i think it could be your carb got choke, by either water or too much air mixture got into it......... or it might be that ur plug that is faulty,...... too much possibility. Best to get it check by ur mech.... niwae happy riding

haiz. anyway, my bike no problem now. didnt go to any bike shop to check the problems. hopefully the problem dont appear again until my next service. and today rain, luckily not so heavy and luckily no problem with my bike, thankfully.

anyone can experience when scooter first start, engine alway like knocking/ jerking. but after awhile of warm up, it will be smooth.

I had a similar problem, not sure what was the cause of it, cos after upgrade my variator, springs n all the etc stuff, the problem just disapper.

Hi guys, just got my new runner today. I am not used to an auto bike. Do I have to always the keep trottle on even when i am at a stop or only cos the bike is still new. Everytime i let go of the trottle the engine will die off. This happens even during cruising at low speed.

 

BTW my bike broke down just 1.9km away from the bike shop and had to be towed back. Shop said cannot save and needs to be sent back to agent. Wasted a whole sat cos of it.

I think most probably your idling was set very low...... but its just a hunch, might be something other than that.

its not due to the fact its a sportsbike...... but its relatively to the fact there some f**king idiots out there who got itchy fingers..... dont get turned off by this cos any bike u own, will have the potential of this happening, its just comes down to what safety measures we take, maybe by fixing an alarm on it might deter the stoopid idiot ....

Hi bro, need ur help. Jus got into an accident with my ST200 and my front coverset and the black dashboard got hit really badly. I send it to my motorshop and was quote $3k for a new coverset. Has anyone ever changed it before? Can anyone tell me if there's a cheaper place to get it? 2nd hand also can. Pls advise.

Thought headlight is H8? Try to check with limbat.com.sg they got variety of bulbs that comes with many types.

I read some where back in the Forum that the tire pressure for the front is 210 and the rear is 230-240 Hope that helps.. Just passing on info. As I just spent the whle freaking afternoon today going thru the forums...

 

I am looking to buy a 2nd Hand ST200 and I dunno how much it will costs. Any seasoned bros like nicky69hayden who can help, I realy appreciate it deeply.

 

I went shopping for one yesterday at Lavendar area and was turned off because I was given a wide range of pricing for 2nd hand ST200 that I ended up more confused.

 

I found a RED ST200 FBD reg plate I liked. But the uncle wanted to con me I think. Becos I was being naive and honest and said I was new to bike shopping and wanted a 2nd hand scooter. He showed me a FBS plated Red gilear and said $6200 (inclusing insurance). The scooter came with box. But he was reluctant to share further detals like mileage and his excuse was that he couldnt find the key. I felt a bit ripped off and I walked away.

 

So any help from any one of you bros in this forum is deeply appreciated.

 

A. what is FBD reg plate : Is it 2009 or 2008?

B. What should I asked for like in extras and freebies ?

C. Will there still be Piaggio warranty on this?

D. Is the pricing of $6200 reasonable?

 

Please advise .... your humble newbie
