Thanks Bro Ed

Have check with that owner, he is selling 7k plus carry on installment. =15k plus.

Brand new if not wrong OTR 18k rite?

Oh, ok sorry, did not realise the 7k was on top of the COI. too good to be true i suppose. 15K is too much $$ for such a bike even if brand "new-old-stock". The 18K I used in the graph was from loois which had one unit in store back in 05. I doubt there are any new old stock remaining.

There is plenty on the market to be had with a 15K budget . In any case the twin quite reliable, so no reason to get the newest. an older low miles one should see you well looked after.

Mine is almost at 90000km and still runs fine! Compression, etc. all still good. Honda V-twins are extremely hardy.

Cheers!

did you check the one in the classies section? I went to see it. Its gen low miles I think, but previous owner spray rims black. It sounds good but a bit scruffy looking but that is half the adventure chique.

The seller a French guy, make him an offer, think he does not ride much, His friend had a R/Gs vs Taxi meeting and he is giving up riding. Budget for steering cone bearings though.

Good luck.

Maybe Varadero better bet, there are a few out there.

To all AT Bros,

This issue has been bugging me for a few weeks. I have been checking my Engine Oil Level and noticed that it is quite low. Approx 1/3 way between the Max and Min marker on the dip stick. I have checked when the bike is warm after shut down and also double-checked when bike is cold / hot. Results are similiar. I went down to reputable AT workshop to check it out, but oddly at the shop, the oil level is ok (near max) when the mechanic checked.

I have rechecked it several times after that visit to the workshop but level is still low? The method of checking is the same ie dipstick just placed on top of dipstick hole, without screwing in. Any insights from any of the Bros here? Is my bike consuming oil?

Posted

The engine tends to consume some oil, this is especially true of the ever so heavy thumping V-twin engine. I used to use fully synthetic 10w-40, only to realise that the oil was being consumed like mad, but this all stopped when I went over to a thicker semi-synthetic oil. Anyway, as long as you can see oil on your dipstick you are safe.

Cheers!

hi,

Thanks for the look up Viper'. Called them up but seems they don't have Vtrom. Maybe it was a customer bike.

Shame that black twin is high miles it looks freat in the pics, had me thinking again about getting an other twin myself.

Thanks anyway.

Hello bros,

Anyone knows where i can repair/buy new spokes for AT rear rim (currently using excel rim) ?

All seems to be out of stock! :weep:

Thank you ...

Try Mtechnic, he is bound to be able to point you in the right direction. If not, you can always use normal rims for the back, and just use the spoke rim in the front. Saw an AT that did that.

Cheers!

Hi all,

No longer in the @ camp but feeling nostalgic or perhaps and can't get used to the Vara bars which are bent too much towards the rider.

Any one got spare Africa twin bars to sell?

Ed.
